Re: Travel advice avoiding Amsterdam
You might want to give Haarlem a go. Not sure as to how long it would take by train from The Hook, but I know its roughly an hours drive from Haarlem and Amsterdam. Would imagine the train wouldn't be too different.

Re: What NOT to do in Amsterdam
When you're at Schiphol, idling away the last half hour or so before you board your plane to go home, don't put your coat down, and then as you're boarding said plane, think 'bugger, where's my coat'.

Re: What NOT to do in Amsterdam
Don't take a bottle of beer into a coffeeshop.
Sounds daft, but I saw some young bloke walk into Betty Boops waving a bottle of beer a few years ago. The budtender made light work of ejecting him from the premises.

India For Holi and health, there’s bhang!
Holi is around the corner and so are ‘bhang thandai’ and ‘bhang pakoras’! But not everyone knows of the enormous health benefits of bhang – known as cannabis sativa in medical language – that is widely used in ayurvedic treatments. ‘The use of cannabis sativa in ayurveda varies according to the symp...

US Baby-boomers leading the way to marijuana legalisation
American pensioners are indulging in more than the occasional Werther’s Original as they approach their twilight years, swapping their tartan rugs and sheepskin-lined slippers for joints and bongs. A new US government report predicts that over the coming decade, as America’s 78 million baby-boomers ...
