Re: February 2021

Thinking of taking a risk and booking a short stay early next year. The earlier you book, the cheaper hotels and travel, so fingers crossed 🤞 Have fun. I think you'll be fine. I'm hoping everything is open by October for a belated 4-20-20.   AzLaker 8) Opted for Jan 18th. Just a ...

Really like the Billie Eilish album, especially with headphones.

Re: Amnesia

Had a great time here, only fairly recently ventured this way despite 25 years or so of regular visits to the city. Had amnesia haze pre-roll (sorry, a lazy non-connoisseur) and a party of three from Leeds squeezed onto the table and we had a friendly time. Friendly staff too. Hope to be back in th...

Yes, you’re right, but it was a very hot topic for a while until folks were sure what was what, as with this and the current mayor.

Night Bar The Bottle, Oudebrugsteeg

ACD Page: Nightbar The Bottle

Honourable mention for The Bottle, Oudebrugsteeg, which is a small (cozy) smoke friendly bar (no tobacco) which benefits from late opening (at least 3am) and cool Dutch staff.

Beer 5€ pint (500cl) which is about par.

Very central.

Re: Worrying news from Amsterdam Mayor's office

Not that worrying really. Been here before with the wietpass, and I gather the locals aren’t big fans of the current mayor.

Anyway, if you think the RLD has been there for CENTURIES and that little vice was only legalised in the 90s 8)

Re: Coffeeshop Amsterdam (formerly Dampkring 2 and Pink Floyd)

Though no longer Pink Floyd for some time now, the shop at 44 Harlemmerstraat has always been a good place to kick things off on my many trips. Find SSH pre-rolled perfectly up to the job, though some folk here discourage pre-rolled. Of course, there’s plenty of good stuff sold by the gram. On three...
