Re: Hotel Voyagers

Had another fantastic stay at Voyagers the first week of June! Big props go out to Andy, Danny and the crew for taking care of us once again... :D Just like our last visit back in March, I had the double shower room in the basement, which I'm finding hard to beat for the money!!! My best mate and hi...

Re: Has anyone stayed at any of these hotels?

Hey Dean - if I was travelling solo, as I often do, and I have enough to afford the extra luxury (for me) of stopping in the double at Voyagers and paying €150 for a couple of nights as opposed to the Vijaya at maybe €120 for a single, I would probably always go for Voyagers... BUT... I still highly...

Re: Has anyone stayed at any of these hotels?

Hey jase, I've stayed at the Vijaya many, many times over the years and I have no complaints with the place. The staff are friendly, the rooms are great value for money considering the location and the fact that you have a private en-suite (in almost all the rooms) bathroom. I only had one room over...

Re: Batavia

Visited last weekend and stopped in here with two of my very good friends three times over the two days... Food was excellent as ever and the staff were the friendliest we experienced all weekend! I wanted to try a couple of different dishes this time around and went for the ribs on the Saturday nig...

Re: Hotel Voyagers

First ever stay at the hotel Voyagers and I have to say I'm impressed! I've been coming to the coffeeshop for years now, but had always stopped at the hotel Vijaya up until now... Was originally coming to celebrate my mate's Birthday with his wife and a mate of mine, but the other guy I was coming w...

Re: Voyagers

And no one's suggesting they should let in kids to pull whiteys all over the gaff. It's about the OTT interpretation of rules that lead to a ludicrous scenario of old age pensioners being refused service cos they can't prove their age. Jesus. I said I was 46, not OAP status! I personally do...

Might put you in a better frame of mind...

Re: Voyagers

Carry ID with you when you go to a coffeeshop. Simple. If you don't have any ID on you and you're walking around Amsterdam itself, let alone the CS's, then you're breaking the law anyway. I'm 46 years old and ALWAYS produce my ID when I visit a coffeeshop, even though I clearly look older than 18. I...

Re: Hotel Voyagers

Yep - good luck with that. If the smoke detector goes off, you run the risk of being kicked out. How many times have I been sat downstairs in the coffeeshop when the alarms go off? If you want to smoke in bed, why not get an apartment? Or take your last toke outside, or even perhaps INSIDE that rath...

Re: Voyagers

How many times does it need to be said in regard to the I.D its not about age. Dutch law states you must be able to provide documentation of who you are at all times as a legal requirement. If the police entered a coffeeshop and asked to identify yourself and you couldn't guess who'd loose their li...

Re: Batavia

Ate here twice over the three day stay I just had... The first day I went for that Beef and La Chouffe Pie and it was fantastic! Easily the best meal I had over the entire trip. Service was better again than anywhere else I'd been. On my last day I tried the Sausages and Mash - top stuff. Then I ven...

Re: Voyagers

Hmmm - I hope they've got a better batch of the Lemon Bio Haze when I get there in the morning! Always like to start the day with a nice Haze if possible, and as Voyagers is my first stop... To be fair, I don't think I've ever had a problem with the wares at Voyagers, and HB has never steered me wro...

Re: Prepare Dark-soft Hash (Afghan,Nepal etc)for smokin in

Sadly, the best memories (hah!) of Terminator were from the golden era of Basjoe's, when it was run by the two coolest cats I EVER met... Not even been into Basjoe's since it was taken over... :( I'm sure there are variants of this crazy shit still floating around in Amsterdam, but part of the fun w...
