There's also THIS option. So, the choices are either rent for about $100 US that includes a pretty OK account credit for calls. or buy the Mobal phone for $50 US and be subject to some pretty hefty per-minute fees of about $1.50 US per minute. My cell is from the employer, so don't want to hack it, ...

Cell Phone Rental
Still planning, and I'm just 20 weeks or so from my trip date.
Thinking that renting a cell phone would be a good idea. I've done a bit of searching, and THIS SITE seems to have the best deal for me; I'm traveling from the states.
Anyone have a better suggestions?
Thanks!

I travel extensively as a solo. I find Amsterdam no different than any other big city. I’m from Detroit so I find Amsterdam to be very safe in comparison. If you stay in a room without a safe you can often put personals in an envelope and leave it with the receptionist. They often have safes for th...

Amsterdam & Yank Healthcare
Not alarmist by any means; just information, esp. for us Yanks (who view healthcare as a privilege.....).

OK, right, sorry about that political blurb there.....
(Our health care/medical does suck, though......)

Lock, solid imovable object, chain long enough to incorporate aforementioned and still include the front wheel and frame of your bike. If those conditions are met, you have found a parking space :) Great suggestion, Soul Rider. I'm taking a chain AND one of those u-shaped steel rod bike lock things...

Plenty of fiet parking on the side of Hunters coffeeshop, Warmoesstraat 24. That would be the closest and safest spot to Greenhouse Effect. It's off the street so it won't be hit, and if it's locked properly the odds of it being stolen are slim. Parked there many times without incident. Great Wolf....

Feits (bike) Parking
Wondering about renting a feits for the week. Staying at Greenhouse Effect; anyone familiar with available bike parking in that general area? I'll rent the typical Granny Bike, so thinking that hauling it up into the room isn't really an option.
