Looks like all is set for my re-booked trip. May 12th - 16th and staying at Hotel Mallemoolen. Hotel Vijaya lost themselves a customer. Have been mailing them daily to check on the status of my previous cancellation and to check availability for my new dates and received no answer for 5 days. I mail...

I'm just trying to think... I sent them a message yesterday to change my dates from 21-24 April to 22-24 April, as soon as I knew what flight I had rebooked, and had a reply firs...

That looks like a nice sliver of clean airspace leading right into the 'Dam if you ask me.

I have to agree with Bennybacker - I have no personal experience of this place, but I stayed at the nearby Dam Hotel one time, and despite all the online comments, found it was just fine! If I'd read the reviews first, I'd have probably given it a miss, so you can never tell... A lot really depends...

Been tracking airport closures with this, and the comment section below the map from stranded travelers has been semi-helpful. http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2010/04/15/world/europe/airport-closings-graphic.html?ref=europe http://graphics8.nytimes.com/packages/flash/newsgraphics/2010/0416-volcan...

Seems like some good news is finally happening! Congrats to you guys still trying to get over there this week, hope all goes well and this pain in the ash volcano cooperates. I'm just praying that in 3 weeks time this is all a bad memory and my re-booked vacation doesn't get turned into a volcation ...

Even in the midst of the volcano gaining steam, I re-booked!

Planned stay is 5/12-5/16 and got a great deal on my flight, about $150 cheaper than my original one.

Now just need to secure a hotel.

If volcanic ash ruins this second try I may just cry.

Shooting for May 12th-16th.

Found cheaper airfare on Priceline than my original flight.

Just browsing for hotels now and hope to put this together quickly, though I'm still a bit nervous about the volcano situation persisting through next month.

Disregard my above rant.

Just found roundtrip from JFK in mid-May for $689, cheaper than my original booking.

A bright light through all these cloudy days.

I'm just about at my boiling point.

Checking Mobissimo for airline tickets for May and tell me why all nonstop flights are now, at the cheapest, $1900!!!!!

I paid $800 when I ordered in February.

Does this have something to do with the volcano or am I just having a terrible run of bad luck?
