All you gotta remember mate is that the roots Need air. edit-more perlite will deffo help provide better drainidge. also if yer do underwater em and let em dry out they do a dramatic droop and then perk right up real fast when you water them (no real harm done) IMOH its best to go this route then t...

It's better to let em get a little droopy then to over water them. How is your drainage, you may be retaining to much water. Are you planing on switching to larger pots? If so, I would go with at least 3 gallon pots to give your roots some room, and, use more pearlite, if you want to increase drain...
