Day 3, Sunday 19 July: Early rising again since we want to get to the Van Gogh museum when it opens. But do we have time for a travel-related freekout? Do we! Our flight Monday will be at the mad hour of 7AM. Mrs. RZ intends to go directly from London City airport to the office, such is her dedicati...

What did Mrs. RZ think of Sanementereng? Never been there but it sounds like my other half would find it a gas. :) Mrs. RZ sez: "Too many cats." "Were there a lot of cats???" "Well, there was one." She allows as how their tea was very good. And says it felt (and I quot...

Day 2, Saturday 18 July: Up today early enough for a quick pull on a pipeful of the Haze before showering and out to grab "breakfast" (just some pastries really, but they were good) at Brood bakker Simon Meyssen and then wait for our 2 tram to take us to the Rijksmuseum. We spent quite a b...

One-two punch

Yup. Back home only two days now and I've just booked my next trip. Solo this time, like the first time. Will be in Amsterdam from Thursday 3 September through Sunday 6 September. No accommodations booked yet, but I'm leaning toward trying something new, having been in the same place the last two ti...

Ron and Liz are tourists!

Day 1, Friday 17 July: Beautiful Amsterdam! The weather reports could not have been more wrong. Many millimeters of rain were called for. There were meant to be only scant minutes of sunshine each day of our trip. We were prepared for the worst. I had intentionally left behind my sunglasses and brou...

Going to recommend eatdrinketc also for iPhone/iPod. Very inexpensive. 59p I think. Mini reviews of various establishements, most with a panoramic movie of the interior to give an idea of warmth, style. For anyone with the unlike app, can you explain the "My Tour" thing? Looking at a bar I...
