Your stuff would be a welcome upgrade to HT's yay-yay-smoke-it fare. I hope you get the gig.

The comment regarding the New Yorker was a tribute to your skills as a journalist, rather than a reflection of reality, alas. We'll read your smoke reports wherever they end up. Stuff that good doesn't need a pedigree.

It's said that the New Yorker is picking up a column dedicated to smoke reports. I say you apply for the job. It'll give me another reason to renew my subscription.

Detached reports with that Hammy turn of phrase. I say: more.

To sum things up, I'll offer my recommendations in order of preference … 1) NYCD (420) – High is clean, alert – with little raciness. Stays sharp. Go for a stroll, see the city. 2) John Sinclair (Papillon) - High is positive and warm, nearly transparent. In moderation, a good walker. 3) Hindu Kush (...

Twichaldinho: Pacific ... yet another shop one doesn't hear much about. Interesting.

blackshore: Thanks for the summary. Comprehensive yet concise! :) Media's Hindu Kush is a real crowd pleaser. References to the stuff keep surfacing in this thread.

Lock11: Thanks for the contribution. So far we've got a vote for White Widow at Roxy, and another for Edelweiss at De Graal. It's always great to read recommendations for coffeeshops that are seldom mentioned. Anyone else out there willing to disclose any hidden gems located in De Pijp?

blackshore: Indeed, it's the sewing machine superstore on Van Woustraat. The display window is hypnotizing ... You also mention Yo-Yo. I walked by there on two separate days (once in the afternoon, once in the evening), and the shop was closed on both occasions. I would've loved to be describing Yo-...

I had very high expectations for 420's blueberry . I was judging it against some prized stuff I had at home, so disappointment was in the cards, I suppose. Unlike the NYCD, the blueberry hit me, and I knew it: I was stoned. I lost my train of thought. My iPod had never before played music with this ...

Geoffk, you've captured my experience at Club Media perfectly: a few young guys up front, the budtender who had to cope with a foreigner (under challenging conditions), the R&B ... I wanted to stay for the R&B but felt that I stood out too much. Perhaps that was the biggest issue -- I was on...

I came to 420 on a mission: I was there for the NYCD and the Blueberry. I had never tried NYCD (but had read the hype), and I wanted to compare some certified Blueberry to the euphoric wonder weed (said to be Blueberry) that I had back home. Denizens of the ACD boards have praised the coffeeshop's r...

Stenman: I'm a weekend smoker, so keep that in mind ... I'd say Eco Skunk is a moderately strong hoot -- somewhat stronger than what I'm looking for before a trot around town. If you're looking for a numb scalp, a scalp that feels like it's humming, and you like a tingling warmth to course around yo...

Darkglobe: It's enlightening to hear about your experiences at Club Media. I was just in and out of the place (although I had been considering sitting down), so my interpretation of the scene was based a passing exchange. As for the pics, they're just photos of Amsterdam. Amsterdam is like a race ho...

Boner: Very interesting ... After a bit of Googling (I knew nothing of the name's significance until TwoCanucks brought it up), I've come to believe the John SInclair of Radio Free Amsterdam and the poet mentioned in the Lennon song are one and the same person. Apparently his arrest in 1969 for sell...
