Re: South by Southwest
No pressure, geeks, no pressure ... Wow, I would like to experience the grand Swiss weed tradition for myself.

Mr nice: Excellent! I'm bracing myself for your travelogue. It won't be the first time someone's questioned my recommendations :)

Re: South by Southwest
Mr nice: I didn't inquire about hash, so I can't say. Look, here's what you do: Take a stroll around this fine corner of the city, making stops at Jabba and Bullwackie. Get the Binnen and the G-13. Head back to De Kade and set up camp. I don't want to steer you wrong. The Orange Bud was good, but I ...

Re: South by Southwest
Mr nice: De Kade has a small selection of weed. When I was there they offered Orange Bud, Power Plant, Amnesia and one other strain, perhaps White Widow. I like the coffeeshop's cheery vibe, regardless. If you're like me, you'll buy an item off their menu and smoke it -- or buy an item off their men...

Re: South by Southwest
Purple Power (outdoor, Homegrown Fantasy, Amsterdam, €7/g) - Duke and I smoked this number while sitting in Solo. The effect was unlike the c'mon-let's-party vibe I got from Purple Power in 2010. This time around it was a subdued, head-clampless stone. The effect was not strong, but it was present. ...

Re: South by Southwest
geeks: mid-south Tennessee and a bag of G-13 ... Sounds like paradise to me. Seriously.

Re: South by Southwest
Bio Binnen (Jabba, Amsterdam, €14/1.5g) - I smoked the Binnen sitting on a bench in a nature preserve in Amstelveen. It is a sativa. Birdsong bounced around the sky like gentle gunshots. Passing cars sounded pleasantly distant. Binnen played with the thought process for a while, then lent itself to ...

Re: South by Southwest
More evidence G-13 is in fact an indica. It's a shame people feel the need to sully it and turn it into a haze :)It was a nice warm stone and looked very indica-y.

Re: South by Southwest
Orange Bud (De Kade, Amsterdam, €8/g) - Subtle. Starts off spacey and dreamy, a walk above the clouds. Settles into a sensual stone. Even. Coffeeshop De Kade has a cheery ambiance, more reminiscent of a locals' bar than a coffeeshop; the counterperson presided over the little crowd like a barmaid. I...

Re: South by Southwest
geoffk: I am relieved to read your take on G-13. It's good to know I'm not the only one who thinks it's on the stony side.

Re: South by Southwest
geeks, ftcarer: I think G-13 is often sold as a cross, G-13 Haze, for instance. I probably read about the haze and projected the effect described upon simple G-13. Bullwackie itself is hardly glamorous, but the neighborhood is nice (http://g.co/maps/5rebg). The coffeeshop gets a steady buy-and-fly c...

Re: South by Southwest
G-13 (Bullwackie, Amsterdam, €12/g) - This one lies dead for the first 10 minutes. After that it embraces you with this thick, warm stone. Halts all rattling thoughts. It is positivity sweated through a fudgy stone. Watched several episodes of David Attenborough's Madagascar on the tiny display of m...

Re: South by Southwest
Mexican Haze (De Kroon, Amsterdam, €9/g) - Started off by slightly altering my perception of sight and sound. Edgy within tolerable limits. At first it produced a headache, but that distraction soon went away. It is what it's called, a haze -- a sativa beefed up with an indica. The ability to hold a...

South by Southwest
Well, I've just returned from yet another trip to the Netherlands. It was a good one, if the quality of the pot is any measure. To the benefit of this report, my life coach and former financial advisor Duke accompanied me for the better part of the trip. His presence stabilized the mind and provided...
