Re: Where's the place to go?
Coffeeshop Birdy in Haarlem. 10 minute train ride, 10 minute walk and you're in one of the most chilled shops anywhere. My routine lately is to stay in Haarlem on jet lag day , go straight to Birdy, and wait for my room on the Grote Markt. There's plenty of chill in Haarlem. Jopenkerk for the beer, ...

Tram 9 from Centraal. Get off at 'Artis' (zoo). Face in the direction that the tram just rattled off in and take first right, Plantage Kerklaan. That turns into Roetersstraat. You pass the Uni and other educational establishments. It's a nice part of town. Ballonnetje is on the right after crossing...

Re: Yanks in Zandvoort
heres a little look at yanks,...enjoy  pft5cqni0EA My mate occasionally picks me up at Schiphol and takes me directly there. I was actually gifted a coffee mug, nice people there and a great place to chill just off a long flight. I asked if I could buy a mug and he just gave it to me. Ther...

Getting close enough for some early weather forecasts now. Up as far as Wednesday 19th they're talking 15+ degrees and mostly dry. I'll keep making vaped offerings to the weather gods in hope of keeping it that way or even better. I'm hoping to do the Stud expedition on foot if possible. Biking wou...

Re: Dutch market flooded with American fast food chains
Five Guys is hardly "fast food".
It's a fantastic, freshly made burger. The fries are made fresh on site. It's a little pricey, but worth the splurge occasionally.

Rookies. Sit at the bar and watch the bakky users in the fish tank. That's what the employees call the smoking section. They were so strict about it at the beginning of the policy they asked customers to place drinkware in an isolated compartment for retrieval so they would not have to go in there. ...

Re: Where should we celebrate 4:20 on 4/20?
Rookies open at six :D They got a reprieve as the distance was measured incorrectly. Boat trip sounds better though. Rookies should be considered. There is plenty of space on both pure and bakky sides. Tram to Leidseplein and there you are. Also, Hunters now operate a smoker friendly bar on Utrecht...

Re: Train Discounts?
Far out man! Thanks that's pretty cool and I might do that a couple of different days. Do they sell all day passes buy themselves without this deal? If so how much? Thanks again Lafe with a long A. You can buy rail passes form NS, but it would be far more expensive. It appears the AH deal is now M-...

Re: What's everyone listening to?
Ah yes, the age of vinyl and rolling joints on Pink Floyd album covers. I saw them on the Animals tour. In a warehouse called New Bingley Hall in Stafford, UK. They played the whole Animals album, the whole Wish You Were Here album and Money as an encore. I think they even played the tracks in the ...

Best way is to fly from a hub. Of course there is extra expense but it's worth it.
