Re: Going underground...

I dont have a problem with any nationality but if I was writing a review of a coffeeshop and the biggest thing that stuck out was some loud Americans I would write it and think nothing of it much like if the coffeeshop was full of drunk Brits I'd moan about them as well. Quite. Remarking on the kin...

Executive smoking

Ruthlessly efficient, exceptionally well-run business. On the Saturday I was there IDs were asked from everybody who wanted to buy or smoke, but in a friendly way. They were also pretty keen that any tobacco was not show on the tables.

An example of the way coffeeshops are going.

come, and come again

The only coffeeshop I visited more than once, and not just because it was close the hotel. Like the music, like the decor, like the staff. Bought Super Silver Haze, which although a bit dry was a nice smoke and hit.

A place for the more discerning smoker.

The land that time forgot

You have to make a special effort to go to this place, or just bump into it like I did. On entering the shop the bar/budtender scoped me out before unlocking the door to let me in proper. As it turned out, this place has a strong middle eastern vibe that is totally cool and welcoming. It attracts an...

Uptown girl

An upmarket place with prices to match, but that's not a complaint. Really nice atmosphere and decor with a knowledgeable budtender. I asked for a sat-dom hit that wasn't too strong and was recommended the Amnesia Haze which was fresh, tasty...but still too effing strong for me. For me, Amnesia epit...

Going underground...

Went on a Thursday morning and had the place to myself for a while. The smoking room is downstairs, which doesn't give you a great view outside. Staff were very friendly. It's closeness to Leidesplein means it seems to attract American students who like to talk loudly about where and when they "...

small but perfectly formed

The world's smallest coffeeshop with a long list of weed and hash and enthusiastic staff. A multicultural place.

Too small for hanging around in, but I like it.

Not sure about this one

Went in the evening and there was quite a scrum around the bud counter, which dominates the entrance. There was also some low-key, but obvious security in the shape of tough looking blokes making grim-faced eye contact with everyone who entered. Personally, if a place needs security then it's not fo...

Basjoe

Great coffeeshop with plenty of daylight away from the main drags, so it appears to attract folks who are keen on smoking rather than just tourists trying it for the first time. For old times sake I got the Jamaican (E4/1g), which was similar but not the same to what I remember from the 80s and 90s ...
