Re: Bar and Coffee shop drinks prices
Hmmm I was actually talking about the tourist/British style bars that attract the wrong type of stag do's and shady goings on in the red light and immediate area that charge these stupid prices for booze. To make myself clear guys, I know that's not the style of nes or any other self respecting esta...

Re: Bar and Coffee shop drinks prices
I don't drink booze that often, so can't help much on that, but coffeeshop drink prices vary enormously. 2 drinks (a milkshake and a coke) cost me about €8+ in Barneys in June - it disgusts me :x - but there are cheaper places, such as paradox 1.60 - 1.80 for juice/tea/coffee, and around €3.50 for t...

Re: Long term smoker....Complete Dam Virgin
The law won't change in that time period - no chance I personally would stay away from centrum, as far as a hotel is concerned, thats just my personal preference. Somewhere out on the outer canal belts such as the prinsengracht would be my choice as I don't really dig that whole central scene but ma...

Lambiek Comic Book Shop, Kerkstraat
As a comic book enthusiast and comic artist myself, I was somewhat surprised when a friend told me about this shop near Leidsestraat and the fact it was somewhat of an Amsterdam institution and somewhat of a mecca for international comic geeks. I've never been here nor have I heard of this place eit...

Re: Ladies trip to Amsterdam
Have to reiterate Paradox - it seems perfect for what you want. Nice older local clientele, cafe atmosphere, bright and airy, popular with tourists who seek the kind of place you want, like minded people who don't care for grasshopper and bulldog. Really lovely welcoming guys work there. My in laws ...

Why join a forum then let this be your first post? Just gets peoples backs up. Not every bud I've ever smoked in Amsterdam has blew my mind but my horizons have expanded with each trip and I've always smoked loads of great weed and enjoyed being in the city - that's what it is all about for me brodu...

Interesting read, thanks to Nol for the update
For so long he has been the voice of reason, reassurance and nonchalance with all these threats of change but there is a heightened sense of worry in this which I think speaks volumes for the current climate.

Re: Amsterdam just isn't the same anymore...
Why is it these one post wonders crop up every now and again spouting this same old shit? Please do us all a favour and do not return to our beloved Holland until you realise the scene isn't just about your opinions on the quality of the weed and leave it to the rest of us to appreciate the city, it...

Re: AMSTERDAMS BEST COFFEESHOP?
I used to love Greenhouse, I'm a big fan of that oriental decor and the incense burning and stuff, sets a nice relaxing mood for me. The one at Waterlooplein was always prob the best one in the city for me. However, that was then, back in the day. Last 5 visits I've seen it go down hill, get pricier...

yeah this doesn't sound too good either http://www.simplyamsterdam.nl/news/84_Percent_of_Amsterdam_coffeeshops_to_be_closed_down.htm I dunno, I actually don't think the content of that article sounds too bad As with all reports and articles about the topic of coffeeshops it is full of ifs and buts ...

Re: First visit, would like friendly advice
I thoroughly enjoy smoking a joint or vaping my weed and spend most of my day doing that in Amsterdam, wouldn't touch anything edible but only because it doesn't fit in with how i like to enjoy weed. I'd feel too out of control, not knowing how strong something was then waiting for the effect to hit...
