CHEERS FOR THE GREAT REPLIES ! ! !
Thanks much for all the great responses to my travelogue. These posts are a thanks for A L L the great information I've received through ACD. Through ACD I've found: 1. A great flat in a class area of the Jordaan. 2. THE definitive coffeeshop directory. 3. All about fiets: renting, riding, using, hi...

MICHMAN'S MONDAY
Since the weather was calling for a bit of sun, I decided to try a couple of outdoor events: a fiets ride outside of town along the Amstel and an authentic canal boat ride w/ the folks from the St. Nicholas Boat Club. The stodgy Frommers and Fodors travel guides may not be 100% for many of us here a...

Great report and pics. Have been to Amsterdam many times, but usually end up eating junk food all trip. So i love the food pics, gives me ideas for places to try. A refreshing change to read a trip report, that contains more than just smoke and coffeshop reviews. Must try the view from the top of t...

SATURDAY
Great day in Amsterdam! The weather was perfect, if not a bit warm (21C). Dutch National Monument day was today, so the streets were filled with celebrants. Started the day at Barney's Uptown w/ a doob and a lovely BLT. Man, the bacon in the Netherlands is THE bomb, thick and juicy. http://i46.photo...

LOL! yea man, Dr. G is pure sativa! That shit crushed my jet lag and me racing around the city for the next 6 hours! Well, you can also see I'm a bit crap w/ the cannabis varietals. I don't label what I purchase so at the end of the day I've got a few odd bits in various bags. Suppose I'm not much ...

Relaxing Day
Rainy and drizzly this morning...perfect for a coffeeshop. Wandered into Dutch Flowers and found a lovely Steely Dan album on the sound system. Bud tender said he liked smooth and easy music in the morning; me, too. Spyro Gyra is another morning favorite. Anyway, purchased some bud and rolled a &quo...

APARTMENT PAUL: ONLY WAY TO FLY
Before I get too stoned and forget this morning, I wanted to relate what a fanTASTIC guy Apartment Paul is, and the apartment I'm occupying is first rate. There was a bit of a problem w/ PayPal upon my arrival, and Paul was gracious enough to allow some time (up to FIVE days he was willing) to solve...

Fearless on the Feits
...and it's TOO much fun. Met two fellow Americans my first day here, and told them I couldn't WAIT to get on the road. "No way!" was their reply "It's too crazy for a bike!" Exactly. What's that I see in the sky? Could it be the sun? Perhaps the St. Nick Boat Club is running. Th...
