Re: Jopen Brewery Haarlem
Thanks for the tip! We're definitely checking the place out, and I'll try both of those beers.

Japanese Pancake World
Wanted to go on my last trip in 2011, but it seemed closed indefinitely. But their web site is still running and up to date. Anyone know if it's open and/or been there? Seems ideal for the stoner crowd!

Re: Grey Area
The same as kids wear nikes, smokers have to visit grey area I gotta disagree with you there...not that I'm doubting that you had an underwhelming experience or anything-I've had some pretty blah batches from otherwise quality shops at times. But I can tell you that GA delivers in a major way every...

Re: What is in your must have Amsterdam travel kit?
I see a lot of you are bringing your iPhones, and I've been tempted to do the same. Usually, though, I leave it in the room because I really like to be disconnected from my "normal life" as much as possible when in the Dam. But I can't help think how useful it would be when used to find pl...

Toke-friendly bars in Haarlem?
Just wondering - are there are any bars in Haarlem that let you smoke weed? I suspect not, but just in case...

Jopen Brewery Haarlem
Has anyone been to the Jopen Brewery in Haarlem? It looks fabulous. Check out the virtual tour of the place on their web site: http://www.jopen.nl/ I've never seen Google maps used that way... In any case, if the beer is half as good as the interior suggests, I may need to spend some serious time he...

If you don't feel too high, you're not. If you do, you are! You'll definitely know...I really wouldn't worry about it. Have a blast!

Re: First timer!
Definitely get outside of the city center as well. The vast majority of my coolest finds and best times came when I left the more touristy areas (although those have their charms as well, don't get me wrong!) If you have time, grab the train to Haarlem (15-20 min. ride, I believe). It has some great...

Re: new govmnt set... addressing the press @ 16:00
This is as official a victory as we'll ever get! But make no mistake - we win! In politics, no one ever really concedes a loss over legislation (not counting actual elections, of course), but instead make compromises. The non-residency thing is a non-starter; it gives cities that need and/or want to...

Re: Food You Look Forward To When In Amsterdam
Always have to have rijstaffel at Kantjil en de Tiger--always amazing. De Klos - I only heard about it on this site before my last trip. After a stop a Dolphins, man, some of the best ribs I've had! With a super - cold beer...unbelievable. Herring sandwich...does it get better? OH - and what is this...
