Always going to be expensive flying to the 'Dam around 420. Newark to Dusseldorf on the 19th returning on the 26th is $674 on Opodo. Fast 2 hr train journey into Amsterdam Centraal $175 round trip. $849 all in. Leaves $251 for more bud.

Non-Thalys IC trains leave Brussels Zuid at 18 minutes past each hour taking about 1h 50m to Rotterdam. Roughly 70E return.

Beware, while a 40 year old vehicle is a great conversation piece it will empty your pockets as easily as any of the vices.

Sat here with two SU carbs and the rebuild kits for the old Spitty. Back on the road in the spring to drive it to the 'Dam with any luck.
