Re: UK Leaves EU
you can fantasise about a re referendum that won't happen I think you're letting your excitement at 'winning' blind you even more. It already is happening. There is going to be a general election before the autumn - that will essentially be a re-run of the referendum. As it stands right now, Labour...

Re: UK Leaves EU
Post office are giving me 1.1741 for me £1 which is still better than any exchange rate for my trips in the last 3 years Against the euro? If so, what on earth are you talking about? It's been hovering around 1.4 for about a year. It's now down to 1.2 and still falling. Your short termism is mind b...

Erm, you wont. The markets opened about an hour ago and the pound is crashing - its predicted to have parity with the euro within days if not hours.Kermit wrote:Fuck I can still get a better euro rate than last year or come to think of it last 3 years, strange that

Re: UK Leaves EU
Fuckinell Boris is winding his neck in already. He's described the winning margin as "not overwhelming". It's surely the first step in a brexit pullback. The guy's terrified of the monster he's unleashed. What a fuckin plum  edit - a link to the article, his first real statement sinc...

Re: UK Leaves EU
I'm not sure the EU would be willing to make concessions. They're taking a fairly hard line at the moment. Understandable really, seeing as everyone knows you dont give in to blackmail - which is essentially what it is. If they give us concessions to keep us in, it merely encourages other countries ...

Mind you, at least we've got our borders back. We'll be much more secure not having to rely on France to do it for us...

Re: UK Leaves EU
Within a short time it became clear that everyone was, like me, really angry about the referendum result. A lot of people are. And there's a growing amount of voter remorse from outers on social media too. Thing is, its a tricky situation because as the out voter above points out, it's democracy, a...

Re: UK Leaves EU
No one knows nothing and anyone who don't live here knows even less. I know one thing. We've just made it as difficult for us to go and live and work in mainlaind Europe as it is to work in the US. We've also angered our closest neighbours after more than 40 years of harmony through a misguid...

No, but his satanic twin is already poised for the job.

Re: UK Leaves EU
Seems to me that this is a vote against the Establishment rather than just against Europe. We are all fed up with our politicians, bankers and other leeches. Unfortunately, though, populist leaders are getting us to turn against each other. Rather than holding to account those that suck fortunes ou...

Re: Oldest and craziest memories of trips from 80s and 90s
To counter the above, I've only had one truly bad experience in Amsterdam. Most of the negative experiences have always been minor enough for me to be able to laugh off the following day as all part of the ride. Even the time I got mugged twice in the same night by the same mugger had an element of ...

Re: Oldest and craziest memories of trips from 80s and 90s
This thread is fantastic to read with a couple of smokes, and it sent me on a reminiscence of some of my trips of old. Some of the stories I'd plain forgotten, and some of them - when I really think about it now - are almost impossible to comprehend, but at the time it just seemed like all part of t...
