Re: Forum Spam

Great cleanup job, a needed intervention Slimline so thank you again. Lemming - great to hear you're back, people were getting worried about you ;) I hope Slimline kept some screenshots or something but in case not, take it from us the place was completely swamped with spam, must have been thousands...

Re: Looking for some real Lavender

I thought the Lavender from Katsu was awful a month ago. Worst purchase of our trip probably.

Re: Forum Spam

Nice one Slimline, had to be done to save the forum. Thank you :D Sure you've figured this yourself but I believe in the admin cp it should be relatively easy to remove the spam users through the Users & Groups => Prune Users option, should be an option to remove all their posts too. Perhaps it ...

Re: Everything in Moderation

The email activation thing doesn't protect against spambots at all, part of their automation includes setting up disposable email addys and clicking that link in the email you get. This is why those kitchen spammers we've been getting for months kept getting through. Lemming hasn't changed anything,...

Re: Everything in Moderation

Aside from actually getting the admin access the rest is technically pretty straightforward. Close to new registrations: ACP => General => User registration settings => Account activation => disable Start removing the spam: ACP => Users & Groups => Prune Users (incl. prune specified users posts)...

Re: Everything in Moderation

That's another red herring dude. Turnitin is an academic plagiarism checker, almost all the academic institutions in the UK use it; while that guy's opinion about it may or may not be valid it is most definitely very subjective to call it malicious and, assuming it is what he says it is, it is 100% ...

Re: Everything in Moderation

Hi all, Morally I cannot hack the forum, it belongs to Lemming. I only supply the web space and the bandwidth for Lem to use. Pete (slimline) I tend to agree Slimline, its a really difficult one. Though Kermit makes a good point about what Lemming would want to be happening to the place. And just t...

Re: Everything in Moderation

Personally I reckon that majestic12 bot, and the possible problem it might cause, is pretty definitely not the same one or related to the current spam problem. As far as I can make out it is a defunct search engine spider gone a bit wrong so it can end up leeching bandwidth, but it has been around f...

Re: Everything in Moderation

Dropped a p.m to slimline, no good he can't do nothing, he's gonna try contact Lem but I think we are just gonna have to put up or ship out until its sorted. :( sad times Does he have the permissions to change the custom registration question, currently about the initials ACD, doesn't really matter...

Re: laser toke

The problem with cheese dab I feel is he posts random stuff and doesn't really comment much or go further. Therefore it leaves all us stoners thinking WTF? and feeling a bit like a stunned mullet. Has anyone actually pointed out what they want him to do? He's been repeatedly and nicely asked, to ab...

Re: Everything in Moderation

Something really needs doing, this has been a significant problem for ages but it is now completely out of control and making the forum very hard to enjoy using. Measures are needed to slow down / prevent new accounts flooding the place, to enable faster cleanup when they do, and also imo also to as...

Re: dont buy autoflower weed in coffeeshops

Tell any of them apart from the Englishman their capital is London they will laugh in your face I guarantee that. Certainly in Northern Ireland (where I'm originally from) I'm not at all sure half the population identify as Northern Irish first and British second, but that's another discussion. Any...
