Are walkups allowed? Can you just pay on that day in cash if there is an available boat? Any problems booking online from the USA?

no. book on website unfortunately. if you got enough people its worth it. just book the day before when your in dam more if its peak summer or a weekend

Got one for two hours two years ago and it was a fantastic afternoon, would fully recommend it. Price has not increased since then i see. If i remember correctly we just rang them and paid canalside ( :D ) for it ! You can see a lot of Amsterdam from one in two hours. Stock up before you set sail.
