Old Skoll suggestions

Post by AMSBIKER »

Hi all

Now I’ve been going to Amsterdam for about 15 years and was just after some old skool coffee shop suggestions. I like the “original” feel and most of the ones I’ve been to have been refreshed and not really to my liking. In town or out not really fussed. Any suggestions?

Welcome to the forum.

What dates will you be in Amsterdam?
I'll post you on the Whos In Town page.
You can see who else may be in town and any Toke & Talks that are planned.

Katsu is old school.

You have been posted on the June Whos In Town page.
Scroll down to your month and click it.

You can see who else may be in town during your stay.

If you don't see yourself, click your refresh or reload button
Your browser sometimes loads pages from your local cache and
you don't get the latest update.

Watch for Toke & Talks, I post them up to the last minute.

Set yourself up with your own T&T or Toke and Talk, where you pick the coffeeshop
(your favorite) and the date and time, I will post it and you wait for folks to
show up, if they do you'll have a T&T. If they don't you still get to enjoy your
favorite coffeeshop!

By default I link your posting to your profile page here on ACD.

I can change it to a web link ( myspace, facebook, personal page )
or an email address if you want.

You can do a little practice shopping on the Coffeeshop Menus page.
Any with arrows are less than six months old.

Any nice new menu pictures you can get will be much appreciated.
Always ask first, better told no than thrown out.

You might want to visit Haarlem. Several nice shops and only a 15 minute train ride.
Birdy ( my fav ), Empire, WW Indica, etc
There are menus for them, from the main page click Other Dutch Cites and then Haarlem.

Hi!
I'll be there from 26-28 of June, I also prefer the old school places, if you want to meet for a coffee and cigarette let me know.
On the 27th I'll be watching Nine Inch Nails...
I'm traveling alone from London.

as a long time visitor, I can concur- it's not the 90"s....there are no 'old school' shops. everything is modern refurbed. Since there are fewer coffeeshops and more tourists, they are all usually quite filled, lacking the laid back relaxed vibe. La Tertuliia is pretty much the same...if you liked their style. And there is alway Paradox which, although redone somewhat, still has kept it's local and relaxed vibe.

oh and Spirit if you like pinball
