Amstel Botel

Post by dylszero »

Has anyone had any experience staying at this floating hotel? Read through tripadvisor and there are many conflicting reviews so was wondering if anyone here could ass their opinion?

Hello,
it is moored across the Ij water and the ferry is every 30 minutes.
If you want to stay out into the early hours then that is a bit of a nuisance, plenty of alternatives built from bricks and mortar around town at similar prices.
Walls are a bit thin too if you are a light sleeper.
Generally OK though and a bit of a novelty.
Cheers

We stayed there once. It was okay.
Decent breakfast, a lot better than other places.

The direct ferry stops at midnight, but there are still ferries on late that go straight across.
The Botel provide a free taxi that picks you up from the other ferry stop if you're out late.

It is a novelty, but ok.
