Craigslist housing?

Post by MinnBobber »

Coming end of May for 6 days and found a couple nice Craigslist apts in AMS and still looking for Haarlem (maybe 3 nights in each).

Any tips on how to avoid ripoffs/ make sure it is real? Have CL housing arrangements worked out for others or turned into trouble?

Some seem to be much less expensive and better than AirBNB etc but there's no assurance on being legit, correct?

My wife and I really MUCH preferred staying with locals that were also competing in our sports tournament BUT
that's not looking good this time :(

I would avoid Craig list as well the city of Amsterdam is fighting with Airbnb because of ripoffs and there kinda legit Craig’s list is just anonymous want ads

Hello,

Why avoid craiglist if you pay your room by day and only after you arrive ?

Even airbnb, I usually pay only 1 night online and then pay directly to owner when I want to stay more.

I guess that I can also do this way in Amsterdam.

Cheers.

I hear some people in US use Craigslist even to get laid so i wouldn't be suprised if apartment was a safer option out of those 2:D
