ACD went down, Lemming brought the backup version up, so it's like ACD but from the end of July.

Just want to say thanks for taking the time to get things sorted again, was seriously starting to panic for a while that might of had to have gone out there without my expert opinions next time haha and smoking in my cold garden of an evening just wasnt the same without the acd forum to keep me busy, hope everyones well. Welcome back all. Seems to be working reasonably well.

I don't really know what happened to the old server. Slimline/Peter had said he may have to let it go on several occasions. He was suffering from very poor health and the last message I got from him was that he'd also lost his daughter to cancer. I haven't been able to contact him for some time. I hope he's OK, or at least as well as can be expected after such a terrible loss.

Unfortunately I hadn't done a backup for a while when it suddenly went offline so we've lost about a month's worth of posts. These are probably gone forever I'm afraid. Also, if you joined during that period (roughly the whole of August and beginning of September 2015) then you'll have to join again.

Anyway, I've restored the last backup I had onto FBN's server. I also took the opportunity to upgrade to the latest version of phpBB. After a bit of a battle I think it's mostly working properly now.

This new version of phpBB (3.1.6, we were on 3.0.8 ) doesn't have a chat extension available yet but I understand there is one in development.

Please let me know if you find anything broken (by email rather than PM please) and spread the news that we're back on any other forums, social media, etc.

Firstly, horrible news regarding Slimline(especially his daughter, rest in peace!). I mean it was reported here before(and lots of people most probably saw this server crash coming)but it's just so cruel! My thoughts are with you!

Thanks you Lemming and FlyByNite as well, much appreciated especially bringing it back without much of a rotten compromise(worst case scenario would be selling this site to some corporate business or other commercial crap. This is a serious problem in my humble opinion. What about crowdfunding and stuff for server costs by the way?).

Let's go for another ten years(at least of course)here !
