Post by AL »

Hi guys

Going over very soon for my wife's birthday & she loves Italian food as do I but I prefer my Chinese/Indian but I'm digressing so can anybody please help in pointing out a nice Italian place within De pijp as we are staying in de pijp for our trip so have a lovely meal & go for few drinks & of course for myself a wee smoke :D would make my wife's birthday a little special (she doesn't read these type of sites as a non smoker so can tell you its going too be her 50th birthday on Friday 3rd june so you can understand why I'm looking for something a little better than a febos  or mcdees )

Want it to be a perfect day with a perfect evening meal for my lovely wife's special day.

Many thanks

I would recommend CASA NOSTRA. I know the two owner, nice young men (Manuel and David) from Puglia. Fresh handmade pasta every day, great food, nice wine, nice setting and excellent friendly service. Feel free to mention I recommended them, hopefully it gets you even better service and food, if that is even possible

Casa di David is at 426 Singel which is close. There are 3 tables in the upstairs windows overlooking the canal with terrific views in both directions. Your wife will love it.

we had a horrible meal there - great ambiance

granted it was a while ago - but it was bad enough that we would never go back

just had to say it....

I certainly will thank you.
Plus getting 3 guys giving me recommendations should make sure all will be well on the night regarding where we eat therefore putting me under severe pressure to review said Italian of our choice.
I may be left with no other option but to eat at them all & end up looking like a walking meatball then probably have some guy in tears laughing at me saying he thought the only other food that made him cry was an Onion :)

Aye well no really as I'll throw a Pineapple at his Head & change his opinion. Free world man :) ha ha ha... jokin

Just tuning myself in as leaving in 12 days so Happy-Heed on.

Thx guys I'm gonna hava ball as per....
