Hash - Icolater ??

Post by theBARBARIANking »

Hi All,

Just a question for the Hash Cannoisseurs out there. I will be in Amsterdam for 3 nights from this Friday 29th and i feel i am experienced enough to understand my strains on weed and smells, bud density as to whats good and whats not so great.

However i want to try more Hashes and decent ones at that. My previous trips to the Dam i could have fallen under the banner of typical English lad who goes guns blazing to get smashed as quick as possible spends his money too quickly and enjoys the first 2 days struggles with the last 2 days due to lack of funds and mental capacity..

I have a budget each day of around 200 Euros per day and most of that will be food/weed/beer and with my beer drinking been limited due to mixing with weed been a fine art i have plenty to play with. By my own standards of course.

Do i just look out for price, The more expensive it is the better.. Blonde hashes look like what i will enjoy the most but i want to try a few and would just like a beginners guide of what to avoid and what to look out for. I read that the hash should bubble on burning but i cant see the BT letting me try and burn a little first.

Ico-later can you recommend a CS that is renown for one or for a few anything oil like. This is a while back but last time i went to the Dam Terminator 2 was making the rounds as the Ico-Later that everyone wanted to get their hands on. Places i should avoid ?

The two main placed i intend on visiting are Grey Area and Voyagers.

I don't have a preference between Indica and Sativa either both have a home in my heart.

Thanks

Sorry to say, but with respect to hash Grey Area and Voyagers are both practically useless. Some like GA for their weed but it has been quite a while since we last had the patience to stand in line for ever just to over pay for weed that in our opinions haven't stood out compared to e.g. Voyagers, Utopia or Het Ballonnetje for a looong time. Voyagers is a very safe bet for quality weed, albeit also consistently expensive compared to e.g. Het Ballonnetje and Baba.

Utopia has been curating a very nice hash menu lately typically with good variety. It is also one of the only places on the CS scene you will see us buying Ice as more or less everything else is complete waste of money (relative to what is on offer as "regular hash" and especially relative to the ice and BHO you can get off the C's scene if you look a bit).

Going only for blonde hashes would be a huge mistake in our point of views, go for a go selection of different types, origin and finishes and enjoy the many different, wonderful varieties! :D

Recommendations are a bit hard as tastes and batches vary a lot, but the following few should be solid:

Tweede Kamer - anything the BT recommends really, but the Laila (10 e/g) and Tblisa /Twizla (12 or 13 per g) are as consistently good as you can get them. There will typically be at least three or four more very good value for money hashes on TK's menu, so go there! :)

Utopia has the most honest, and in many forum regular's opinions the overall best, customer service of any coffeeshop, they will tell you if a current batch is a bit disappointing or if it is the 🔥... The diamond polm we had from there in August was one of the best classic Moroccans of the trip, and we had many stellar examples, and their Kandy kush ice is a steal at 16 or 18 a g...

The Boerejoengens chain is well worth a visit for both their large selection of new school or "block" hashes, some of these are very nice and superb value. Their selection and pricing on green is very hard to beat also, many locals swear to the chain as the only place with decent prices...

There are soon many more options, shop around a bit and don't be afraid to ask a bit, BT's are usually quite happy to share info on hash

Thanks, You were the first to reply to both my threads today.

Thanks for the very detailed and factual feedback I am very grateful. I had been reading about the GA queue times etc and that had been putting me off a little so thanks for confirming.

TK and Utopia added to my Hash visit list and thanks for the personal recommendations i shall be looking into sampling those and will be sure to offer you feedback on a travelogue i will put up during my stay.

Again thanks very much

Babylon on Beursstraat has a good selection of Hash and well priced, worth a trip if your on the hunt for some Hash in the area.

Visited a few times in April and August and wasn't let down with quality. Brain was too fried by the end of my trips and didn't make physical notes of exact purchases but mental notes remember it was decent for Hash, better Flower available elsewhere however.

In the past Coffeeshop Bushdoctor was specialised in Ice O Lator and "concentrates". They had an own menu for these type of "hashes"... but that was before the coffeeshops were afraid of selling concentrates made with solvents. THC oil for example is a "hard drug" in NL and coffeeshops usually are not allowed to sell it...
but it´s still a grey area... many shops act like not selling concentrates made with solvents but they sell Rosin wich is made without solvents of course :P it seems like the dutch law is in this point a matter of interpretation

Coffeeshop Superskunk have a lot of concentrates on the menu but never tried it... prices go up to 120€/g
but if money is no problem  things like Wax, Crumble....

Personally I am looking also for some good ice hash but in the past you get much better stuff especially ice hash for good prices. Even Greenhouse had years before a Ice O Lator for 18€/g wich was really great for the price. Nowadays you have to pay much more and it´s not as easy to get... it´s easier to get concentrates than ice hash atm... there are a few good concentrate makers in town

I stick usually with the imported hashes mostly from morocco :D there is a lot of hash that be made of "new" genetics produced in morocco  that is a little similar to ice hash :D
