ALRIGHT! Yes gromit 2 made the first one look like childs play. I have always been into crappy B rated horror movies. I get a kick out of them. The human centepede 1 and 2, I have to admit turned my stomach more then any other though.

HuCent1's available for streaming on Netflix, if you dare.

Ebert's closing comment of his HC1 review is a chuckle...
"I am required to award stars to movies I review. This time, I refuse to do it. The star rating system is unsuited to this film. Is the movie good? Is it bad? Does it matter? It is what it is and occupies a world where the stars don't shine." :)

I think with these sort of films you either like them or you dont and even when you do like them you still have to be in the right frame of mind to watch them. Kind of like other genres, musicals, sci-fi, drama, animated etc except these sort are more aimed at a smaller more specialised audience who can see beyond the graphic nature and more into the fantasy come artistic side of such films.

I myself also quite like these "crap" sort of films, The uncut Zombie Flesh
Eaters is among my faverate horror\gore disturbing (call them what you want) films yet the other half think there is something wrong with me for watching such shite. Ok, these are right on the edge of what a film maker can get away with but I'd still watch them all the same.

But to be honest and yet to see the second film did not think the first was to bad, was not that graphic at all just the story and situation is what probably turned many away from watching. The first has been on UK tv a few times now I think, even if edits in the operation scenes were made?.

I heard they did edit the UK versions. I know the second one was banned but then I heard they edited it. I dont know how though. The whole movie is graphic and horrid. DOnt know why I like to watch such shite but I do. lol.

The first was almost certainly edited since it's been on tv. Even the most tame films get edited for tv thse days for the most pointless and stupid reasons (PG rated James Bond films for example). Probably why I watch so little films on tv these days and prefer the original dvd releases or imports. The second 1 was banned, or refused a release in it's current form for UK cinema release. And without the BBFC rating they also could'nt release it on dvd either. Think the makers may have edited the second film but I recall something about them originally refusing to do so as it took away a lot of the artistic aspect of the film that would have been aimed at it's target audience.

I think the makers intended to licence it themselfs for digital download based on the original version and bypassing the BBFC as it was being made available to the UK from outside the UK avoiding the need for a UK rating.
