It seems to be the latest shop that will be out of bounds for a spell during renovation. It must cost a significant amount to a shop to do this sort of thing – not so much the cost of labour and materials as no sales revenue for weeks on end – so I'm wondering if there's more to things than just getting tired of the curtains.

The Dampkring is definately one of the best coffeeshops I have been to in Amsterdam.
Great vibe and the place looks very hip. The weed and hash are of great quality and the staff is very friendly..
Back soon! :D

My bad

The picture in the chair is pre? Damn, I don't remember Tweede Kamer being that light! Does being stoned affect your memory and your eye-sight? :?

I have to say I was never a fan of Dampkring 2 as a place to smoke or to admire the decor, though I did once without any of the problems others have reported. I'm curious to know what particular regulations all these renovations are designed to comply with, if any. I can't help thinking back to the days when Rusland seemed to change radically every time I visited the Dam (in the '80s), but nobody else seems to remember that phase.

Someone mentioned the word renovation - did not see any signs of that last Friday.
Don't like the oncomfty to low plastic "chairs" on the top floor - hint.

Bought some King Hassan haven't smoked it yet.

King Hassan (6€/g) again new batch  not as dark as before. It looks more like a blonde moroccan hash now... it´s also not so soft but if you hold it for a few seconds in your hand it´s getting pretty soft. Still nice for the price and an "aanrader"
