aye some good memories in here, broke in a few Dam virgins in here
On the upside, they say that it will be weed friendly, so not a complete loss.

Yeah it's still open.TwoCanucks wrote:Is HSB at the Market still living?
And this bar is indeed weed friendly. Really good place to chill.

I think thankfully HSB@Market is outside of the closure area'sRoo-Vee-Bo wrote:Yeah it's still open.TwoCanucks wrote:Is HSB at the Market still living?
Sending out the good vibes to those that need them right now
Re: Hill Street Blues (on Warmoesstraat)
spend many a day blazed off my tits in HSB...will miss the place! however, if it really is just staying the same aside from the bud license, then i'll still happily go there, with the added bonus of being able to get a sneaky beer with my first joint.
i really love the decor and atmosphere in there though...i hope that doesn't change.
also i guess this gives me an excuse to head over and check out the apparently more chilled HSB on the market.
and slightly off topic, what other coffeeshops on Warmoesstraat have closed aside from HSB and 36?

NOOOOOOOOOOO, may not be the best, but my all time favrate CS EVER!!!!!.
I recall when they had to choose the booze licence or the CS licence and remember being rather surprised that they chose the CS licence over the booze licence. As I recall this place being better as a central located and cheap bar you could smoke in than the CS as such. But I did get used to it as just a CS in the end. Many, many great nights in this place when a bar over the years. As long as they don't change the interior and business as usual barring the bud bar I think most HSB fans can live with the change and even welcome it in some respects over fully closing.

I find it annoying you are forced down the back to smoke but at 3 euro a pint between 7 and 9pm I won't complain too much Some guy who works there was a little worse for wear with his mates sitting at the table by the front window last Friday night and was openly smoking weed. He was eventually asked to put it out and I got a little insight from the girl working behind the bar how the smoking laws work in the pubs.Kingdoc wrote:Ah well at least its still a smokers bar!
This place hasn't changed much over the years which is probably a good thing and if you fancy getting drunk on the cheap in the center of Amsterdam I don't know a better or cheaper place to do it than here..
