Though as a Psoriasis sufferer I would say the topical treatment of Psoriasis ( ie putting creams on the skin ) does not address the causes of Psoriasis or reduce it permantly as in many ways it is an immune system issue. The more powerful treatments are immunosuppressants.
What they do is help us cope and reduce the over growth of skin cells.

The corticosteroid creams do a similar thing as they are very good anti inflametries but there are issues with long term use.

I have used hemp oil in treating my scap Psoriasis and I think it can have a role in our treatment as can a number of other essential oils.

I find it encouraging that alternatives to steroid creams are being considered more often by sufferers as with a life long disease the prolonged use of steroids is not good for the skin so the kinder the topical treatments are to our skin the better they help us cope with it.
