Old style Rolling mat
Re: Old style Rolling mat
Raw papers makes some gimmicky miniature version of just that, surely overpriced as it's just an undersized sushi-rolling mat (and the one you posted is just a relabeled sushi rolling mat, also likely marked-up on marketing name). Anyway go to any asian specialty grocery/supermarket type shop and they should have those mats. Even some regular supermarkets here carry those sushi mats.
I know the overpriced Raw version were being sold recently (probably still?) at the the Headshop (it's literally called the headshop) on Damstraat, if you wanna pay a premium and feel like it's actually "meant" for rolling joints. Anyway if you're in UK I suggest looking for some supermarket/any store that carries stuff for making your own sushi (more common than you'd think these days).

Agreed, its just a sushi rolling mat, but thanks for the trip down memory lane. I haven't seen one of those since the late 80s, before the days of large skins and before CDs..DeLekkersteNUGS16 wrote: ↑Tue 14th Feb 2017 12:18 am Is just a relabeled sushi rolling mat, also likely marked-up on marketing name). Re: Old style Rolling mat
Thanks for all replies guy's BUT! not as simple as a sushi mat which I have purchased on numerous occasions and the weave of the mat is too wide and the bamboo to thick & rounded.
The RAW nightmares are similar in construction and I even have a great mat with a perfect weave but a poly cotton backing which then does not roll correctly.....(ebay)
Understand a thing of the past, but if your finger tendons are fecked, then a mat is the only way... along with rolling a decent size J if among friends
Keep your eyes peeled guys...

Re: Old style Rolling mat
Wait do you use it as a "tray" or an actual rolling-mechanism? Because if its the latter why not one of those ones more designed for such tasks, I believe zig-zag and million other companies make those "joint/cigarette" rollers that are like to plastic bars with a sort of canvas between if that makes sense. If its the former, I think there are again a million better surfaces to break down your nugs on. So essentially no matter what you're after, there's a more useful adequately functioning device in place of that tattered mat.

Re: Old style Rolling mat
I cannot hand-roll....
...I'll let that sink in.
...Anyway, if i do need to hand-roll, i can approximate a tube-like, cannabis-filled paper wrinkle, capable of incineration.... It has air-pockets, and roach like a mosquitoes poop-chute.... However, there is an alternative...
I use a rolling mat. Have done since 98/99... Up until then, i used the machines... Had five or six of them, in varying sizes and diameters... Unfortunately, those machines are not really designed for regular tokers, at least in my opinion... They are usually cigarette length, and cigarette width, which can kill your stash if you only smoke pure, or kill you if you like to mix with baccy... This is where the mat comes in... It's incredibly versatile; it allows you to control length and width from basically nothing, to the length and thickness of the whole mat itself. It, more or less, guarantees straight, even joints, and even props the paper up for you when building... Shit, you could roll one-handed with one, should you gamers/facebookers/porn-addicts, need to, for some reason.... All in all, unless you can roll perfectly by hand, i don't see why everyone doesn't have one?!?! ...I mean, yeah, you can't do fancy shit like Tulips, but who actually still smokes those, anyway? ...And, yeah, it's a bastard finding a good one... Even the RAW ones, which are decent quality, are a little too thick when it comes to the dowels, so it tends to leave a "crinkle cut" effect on the paper... But, aside from that, they're great!
I'll be picking a shitty one up from BABA's Souvenirs in April, and swearing at it for a few days, since it won't work properly....
...I can't wait!
