I am travelling to the dam at the start of may but it isn't my first trip. Any specific coffee shop recommendations, preferably not the super famous ones, and certain strains that are a must try? Many thanks

Welcome, hope you have a great trip, but hey you are going to Amsterdam to get melted, so that is almost a given, especially since you've found your way in here... :D

Browse around the forum a bit, read a few of the latest trip reports from some of the many great contributors and you will quickly find more advice and ideas regarding interesting shops and purchases than you will need for several adventure and smoke filled trips..!

A few random suggestions:

1e Hulp - a little out of the center and usually has top product and a menu that changes quite often. A little expensive and to some a little too hyped by facebook fan boys, but we find it more than worth a visit.

Boerejoengens / Ams genetics chain - rated as one of the most consistent shops / chains by a lot of trusted members for value for money and good quality products.KKing of block hashes. To some the devil (fake hash, commercial establishment and many other wrong doings in the eyes of some, not us)..

Utopia - probably the forum favorite over all...

Voyagers - contender for number one forum favorite for top quality, knowledgeable staff and exclusive strains. Quite on the expensive side, but so are more or less all top shops in the center...

Thanks a lot dude, I've been to voyagers on past trips and loved it. Heard a lot about 1e hulp too especially the moon rock. Have you tried the moon rock if so is it worth its hefty price tag?

No problem dude, our pleasure :)

Haven't tried the moon rocks, but can still tell you they are not worth it, uunless you are looking for a very expensive gimmick, simply way overpriced... Instead we would recommend throwing some bubblehash or ice from one of the better places for this (club media hi rumored to be among the top picks for ice wrt quality for your money and 1e has a range of very nice bubblehashes at a very reasonable 16/g).

If not are looking for the really highest of qualities (most of which are still technically illegal and could theoretically get you in a little trouble, even though it seems very unlikely) will have to look outside the coffeeshops, at least if you want the top stuff and don't want to be robbed, but that use another story...

And now a little messages from my v'smart ohonec" gaag aa

Go to Haarlem, spend several hours visiting Birdy, Empire, and WW Indica.

Just the one day? I'll post you on the Whos In Town page.

Enjoy

You have been posted on the May Whos In Town page. Scroll down to your month and click it.

You can see who else may be in town during your stay.

If you don't see yourself, click your refresh or reload button
Your browser sometimes loads pages from your local cache and
you don't get the latest update.

Watch for Toke & Talks, I post them up to the last minute.

Set yourself up with your own T&T or Toke and Talk, where you pick the coffeeshop
(your favorite) and the date and time, I will post it and you wait for folks to
show up, if they do you'll have a T&T. If they don't you still get to enjoy your
favorite coffeeshop!

By default I link your posting to your profile page here on ACD.

I can change it to a web link ( myspace, facebook, personal page )
or an email address if you want.

You can do a little practice shopping on the Coffeeshop Menus page.
Any with arrows are less than six Mays old.

Any nice new menu pictures you can get will be much appreciated.
Always ask first, better told no than thrown out.

With a three day stay, a visit to Haarlem should be on your list.
