Hi everyone,
I'm quite new to the weed scene and on a relatively short notice, I'm going to the Psy-Fi festival in Leeuwarden this year.
As I have never been in a coffeeshop, what can you recommend about the behavior in coffeeshops? Do they still sell weed to tourists? How do you approach the staff there?
Is there an etiquette that I should keep in mind? And even more important: can I order in english or should I learn a few dutch words?
And last but not least: anyone of you guys on the festival as well who wants to meet?
thanks in advance for any help

Welcome to the forum.
You have been posted on the August and September Whos In Town pages.
You can see who else may be in town during your stay.
If you don't see yourself, click your refresh or reload button
Your browser sometimes loads pages from your local cache and
you don't get the latest update.
Watch for Toke & Talks, I post them up to the last minute.
Set yourself up with your own T&T or Toke and Talk, where you pick the coffeeshop
(your favorite) and the date and time, I will post it and you wait for folks to
show up, if they do you'll have a T&T. If they don't you still get to enjoy your
favorite coffeeshop!
By default I link your posting to your profile page here on ACD.
I can change it to a web link ( myspace, facebook, personal page )
or an email address if you want.
You can do a little practice shopping on the Coffeeshop Menus page.
Any with arrows are less than six months old.
Any nice new menu pictures you can get will be much appreciated.
Always ask first, better told no than thrown out.
Enjoy

Thank you FlyByNite and madmaxxx.
I'll plan my trip so that I can try the T&T
I have a look at the menus and any references to the Leeuwarden coffeeshops later this evening and send you a PM, FlyByNite.
If someone has any recommendations, don't be afraid to share them with me

A few recentish threads you might find useful info in I think

Never been to Leeuwarden, but coffeeshop etiquette is relatively universal, just be polite and you'll be fine. They are still selling to tourists there. And yeah, carry ID in Holland whatever your age.
Usually a dealer booth will be obvious when you walk in, sometimes in like an airlock system at the entry door, otherwise just ask for a cannabis menu. No coffeeshop sells alcohol by the way but most expect you to buy a hot or cold beverage there, some require/expect a cannabis purchase too, some not. Most have seating, a few just do takeaway.
Technically smoking tobacco is illegal indoors, some shops only allow pure smoking, some have dedicated smoking areas, some you just don't leave your baccy on the table (if you use it). A bit of observation usually clears that one up. 5g per person per day is the maximum legal amount any shop can sell you.
Most Dutch people speak great English but a tiny bit of effort with please/thankyou etc usually goes down well, I would guess moreso outside central Amsterdam too. Just be nice and not crazy/loud/foolish, better to ask a foolish question than do a foolish thing without asking

Cool, have fun in my hometown!
Leeuwarden coffeeshops don't get many tourists so they are generally very friendly and interested.
