Alaska is a casualty once again

After nearly 2 years of trying nearly every dirty political trick in the book the governor of Alaska has finally gotten his great victory.
A bill which had already been introduced for the growing problem of methamphetamine here in the state had the recriminalization of Cannabis attached to it last week and it has passed and the governor has already signed it effectively outlawing cannabis once again we no longer have the right to grow or posses it on our property in our own homes any longer.

ALL scientific and medical evidence that was presented on Cannabis was completely ignored and never even looked at or reviewed by anyone casting a vote the lies and BS being proclaimed by those pushing it through were reminiscent of the movie reefer madness.

The politicians are now all smugly congratulating themselves like they have won a great victory protecting and saving the lives of all the poor helpless people in the state.......meanwhile Alaska has one of the worst problems of alcohol abuse in the country and there has never been a single word mentioned of outlawing it to save anyone.......Typical Hypocritical BULLSHIT.

There is a small chance the court will overturn this in the future but at this point I am very doubtful I can smell all the shit that went on behind the closed doors and the smell is real bad......bad enough I don't think the truth or facts will do any good once again.

So fire one up in memory of us up here guys we just took a real hit on the front lines and Alaska is a casualty of the war on Cannabis once again.

One thing the news article fails to mention is under the new law over 4 ounces maybe a felony and under 4 ounces maybe a misdemeanor but.....

1-4 ounces will still carry a 1 year prison sentence and

under 1 ounce will carry a 90 day prison sentence.

Pretty damn stiff for a misdemeanor charge.

The U.S. government usually until now has not touched my life much at all way up here in the Frontier it was about the freest place left in the country.

I find the more I learn about the Netherlands the more I can not help but think how nice it must be to live in a country that is not going insane.

The Netherlands just keeps looking better all the time for a whole long list of reasons other than just Cannabis.

Alaska is not completely dead yet and we are hoping for a comeback.

The whole thing is going to court starting next month some people are hopeful and others like myself remember what happened the last time it was outlawed and how many years it took to get our rights back.

The main problem even worse than our bought and paid for governor are those who are backing him with all their outside pressure, influence, DISINFORMATION and LIES from the federal government, political and religious groups and big business who desperately want to make an example of Alaska just like the last time this happened.

The thing that amazes and sickens me the most is their most effective claim they keep maintaining is that having Cannabis legal sends the wrong message to our children and they act as if this is a fight to save the lives of our youth and they play this card so well in all their propaganda instilling fear in many parents.
The other thing that amazes me is how effective this is with so many people who actually believe it.

I will never understand why so many people are like cattle in a herd and can not think for themselves and how easy propaganda usually works no matter what the subject.

Cannabis has never been legal in Alaska for children the first time the legal age was 19 the second time when it became legal again it was 21.

There are beer and liquor stores next door usually within the same building to MOST of the grocery stores in this state only a few steps to stock up on ANY amount of a substance that in the U.S. alone kills thousands a year from overdosing, over 70,000 a year in alcohol related auto accidents and thousands more from violent crimes.

Their arguments are strange are they not when so far there has not been a documented case of one person ever dying from a cannabis over dose and anyone who ever tried probably sat down and fell asleep first and as far as violent crimes can anyone think of a more non violent substance that could be used to calm and relax so many people that are prone to violence and aggression.

Yet these same people who always publicly claim that having Cannabis legal sends the wrong message to our children and act as if they are on a crusade to save them NEVER say a word about outlawing alcohol the most documented and destructive substance humans have ever consumed.

Don't get me wrong guys I am not in any way saying you should lose your beer it's just the hypocrisy is so overwhelming in all of their justifications in their drug war and the simple mindedness of those who listen to them is at times frightening.

So unfortunately at the moment Corporate America is running the country Middle Management is in power and the Cattle are grazing in front of their televisions being told what to think.

Hopefully the U.S. will become the land of the free some day instead of the almost free.

However it seems that the Alaskan law has been changed recently . My hopes were high of a chilly toking holiday in the snow, and then crushed by this thread. I wonder how the law has been enforced in Alaska baring in mind their state constitution of "right to privacy".

Not that it really matters but Palin was elected in late 06 a few months after the original post date....This thread just got a bump out of the afterlife.
