this world is really crazy....the herb is a wonderdrug, but its illegal....I have to think of this every day. have become a hippie myself, telling everyone who is taking medicine for something that could be treated with cannabis to do so, because its less dangerous than the shit produced by the companies...I havent been ill since I started to toke everyday, my stomach problems went down to zero, after 2 years of steady pain and pills subscribed by my doctor which helped nothing! I took them and they did nothing! now I just smoke a joint, the pain is gone and I can live without pyrosis....
That's the problem I have with my epilepsy, and the reason it is labeled as "Refractory Epilepsy ".
On average within about 18 month I tend to build up tolerance to any med. they give me and my seizures start again.
Have had mine since 2000 and have been through all the meds there are.
Am now on Topamax, but if they have to continue increasing the dosage, either for my seizures or for my CDH I will eventually be at a level where will be some what of a drooling zombie.
May be having surgery in May after trip, but really not loooking for ward to that.

I dont believe marijuana is the best thing or will even work for everyone, if I was you Kermit I'd make a small batch of cookies/cakes and see if that helps.

Yeh thats what i am planning on doing. Then she can just have them alongside her legal drugs.

My mum suffers from loads of ailments, asthma, arthritis, osteoporosis and all manner of other things and I suggested we (my dad & I) start a greenhouse grow for her but she didn't like the idea of getting the munchies as she's paranoid about putting weight on, I did tell her she could manage her weight but she wouldn't agree, shame really as my dad's a good gardener and I reckon between us we'd be able to grow some good dope.

The few times I have been able to get really good medicinal quality smoke, a couple of times from AzLaker and a couple of times from another friend it has definitely helped with the CDH.
Can't say if it helps with the epilepsy as I am not able to get on a regular basis.
This is one of the reasons that even though I may still be having problems with the headaches in April I will still be going to Amsterdam.
If your old lady does not toke, and if she has not eaten cannabis foods before, then I would use caution.
I find that when eating weed/hash cookies/cakes, or drinking green dragon gets me way more wasted than toking. The problem, especially for a newby, is that it is much harder to titrate your dosage with edibles that when toking.
That is, when toking a person can take one toke, wait five-ten minutes, and then try another toke, wait, and repeat until an optimal dosage can be determined. However, it, typically, takes between 45 minutes to 1,5 hours (for me its about 1 hour), for the effects of edibles to start kicking in. AND then you climb for hours....and then you are wasted for many hours after that.
The analogy I use is toking = bumper cars, and edibles = roller coaster. If you don't like the bumper car ride it is easy and quick to to bail. However, once you are on the roller-coaster, you are on for the whole ride whether or not it is enjoyable.
However, I use an oz to 1.5 oz of very good bud in weed butter that goes into my cakes, so a very small piece will suffice. If you use a smaller amount then the effect will not be as intense. Still, if making cookies, I would recommend that she try 1/4 to 1/2 cookie, and wait an hour or two to note the effects.

But she is gonna give it a go (Small amount) and we will see. I have done alot of research around the net during the last 24hrs and found mixed reports. So it is hit or miss and it cant do anymore harm than the drugs she takes. (She will still be taking her meds of course)

What I can say from experience w/Epilepsy and weed is that afer I have had a Grande mal seizure smoking even commercial quality weed helps relax muscles afterwards.
My neurologist also feels that it helps relief stress and anxiety two major triggers for seizures.
True Story
Two years ago in April while in Amsterdam I had a seizure in c.s.
Due to being preatty wasted did not convulse like I usually do ( twitch lol ) and many of the people in the shop thought I was having a strange whitey.
Luckily Cattales was there and is a nurse and realised someting else was going on.

Seizure probebly brought on by lack of sleep and 8 hour time change as this was first day there.

Actually, mate, "old lady" is slang for your girlfriend or wife. (Which, unless one lives in the appalachian states and/or one can play the banjo with one's feet, is much different that one's mum! )
I have always refered to the old bag as the old lady since i was a kid (It wont change).
