Hi

Not sure if im posting this in the correct section so just let me know if im not and ill post it elsewhere.

im going to amsterdam with a few mates. we're all relatively new to smoking weed, hash, space cakes etc. we'll be buying the pre rolled joints. any advice as to what sort we should be doing since we're not regular smokers?

also would you avoid combining drink and smoking? going to be staying between the dam square and the red light district so any recomendations as to which cofee shops are good around this area?

any decent clubs in this area also and whats the dress code?

many thanks

I personaly would stay away from pre-rolled joints. They are more often than not bottom of the barrel crumbs mixed together (rather harsh). I would suggest you pick up a bowl to smoke you buds and hash. If you want a joint, and the coffeeshop is not too busy, some dealers will roll one for you if you ask.

Wouldn't bother with the pre-rolls, am not an experienced smoker either but didn't find it too hard to roll my own.

Am not smoking anything with tobacco in ever again though which is another story..... :-)

if you want to drink and smoke I would advise you smoke up first. Maybe it's just me but if I drink then smoke it's a recipe for disaster.

And I echo the stay away from pre-rolls, learn yourself before you go - or get a rolling-mat if you still can't do it. Most places will have a bong or Vaporiser you can use and you can start of as small as you like.

Shops I like in that area - Hill St Blues, Greenhouse, 420,Homegrown Fantasy. & Greenplace, Basjoe and Bluebird are close by to, behind the RLD.

Naivety is not a problem bud :)

Bowl refers to the bowl in a pipe.

Pipes and Bongs are available for use in many coffeeshops.

I recommend trying a Vapourizer. Many coffeeshops offer a Volcano or Verdamper for vapourizing.

ah thank you :) ah right ok so how does a vapourizer work?

:D

A vaporizor heats your weed to the point where the active ingredients (THC mainly) become a vapour. You inhale the vapour.

The advantage of this is there is no combustion as the vapour point is quite low. This is much healthier than inhaling hot smoke.
It is also more efficient and allows your weed to go much further than smoking.

The Volcano uses a bag to collect the vapour and you suck on the bag and can pass it around.

The Verdamper is much like a bong, you inhale directly and vapour is cooled by water.

Hope this makes sense....

You may wish to purchase a cheap pipe for use when there are no vapourizers available.

ah ok :) yeh makes sense. so if i decided to use a bowl or a vapurizer i persume i buy the weed by the gram yes? and will 1 g do 6 people who dont smoke it very often?

Shops usually sell by the gram. Some shops sell a fixed price bag (€12.50 bags or €10 bags for example) and you will receive varying amounts of each strain depending on the price per gram.

One gram in a pipe (not all at once) may well do the six of you but if it doesn't you can always buy more.

One gram vaped should do all six of you just fine for a while yes!

If you are asking will one gram do six of you for the 2 days, well I dont know but I doubt it......
