Who's Had Better In England?

Post by Prestoned »

For example, just before the 2008 Cannabis Cup we sourced some Stella Blue from a UK grower. We smoked this and enjoyed it, very much so. The taste was unreal, the buds were nice and cured. Several choice buds were saved for New Years Eve, and they still retained their full flavour.

We then decided to try some in Dam, if we could find it. We then learned that it was on the menu at Anyday at 10.5Euro per gram. This was great news, so we went and tried it on the latest visit. We had heard that it had potential to have gone hermie, so we went with reservations.

The gram we got looked nice, no sign of being hermie so we purchased it. The taste was not there, not even in the same league as the UK sourced Stella Blue. Cant comment on the effect of the high as we had been smoking many types previously, but there was no noticable change in state of mind.

So who else has had an experience like this, and which strains/coffeeshops where they with?

I know a cat who regularly grows an AK-47. The only thing close to it was one i tried from Central, it is far superiour than any of the AK's ive tried in 'dam. However the problem is this is the exception rather than rule for buds i score in England. Also i think its obvious if u source from a grower growing for personal/small distruption it is going to be better than buds grown for coffeeshop/mass distruption purposes.

I saw some cheese about a year ago which was probably the strongest green I've ever laid eyes on. There was about an ounce of it, it reeked to high heaven, there wasn't any available to buy but a few tokes on a spliff put me FIRMLY on the couch.

certainly an exception unfortunately tho. Ah well. Dam in 4 days 8) :D

The PP a friend grows is stronger than any PP i have tried in the Dam. I dont just mean a bit either, i mean sit the fuck down, shut the fuck up coz the lights are going out
He grows alot of it and is readily available across the Leicester area mainly in the Asian networks

Other than that strain most the others i have access to i have not seen on menus in the Dam so cant compare.

The answer for me is yes. Once had some amazing hash scored in the UK many years ago. Nothing has come to close to it ever since. It had trace elements of opium in it which I didn't know at the time, not until I found myself knocking on the dealers door the day after I scored it and desperately wanting to buy more, when he told me what was in it. Could only get another quarter, but superb stuff, seriously superb stuff, you will probably never see being dealt via a coffeeshop in Amsterdam.

i think the only thing that makes the dam really the dam are the top strains. usually these really are outreagous and hardly found elsewhere. for example quaze or terminator. even the sub top weeds like kushes seem to be better in the us as has been stated in this forum. i also have experienced this with odd weeds like orange bud, jack herrer, pp and so on. they even come lots cheaper lolz.

I mainly smoke BC buds and have to say I think the quality is generally better than Amsterdams, and certainly most of the buds around in the uk. Its your canuck hash that I love. Real fan!

personally it not about whether you get better at home as we know just by what the forum turns up...and people trying different from all over the globe....the thing about amster to me is the fact you can sit there in a place thats aimed at our niche and toke to yer hearts content on one of many strains, some of which might even be better than at home, and not run the stress of being busted.........the choice(some good some bad) and the ambience..........now i know i'm stoned.....8 months fast is now over

I gotta agree, sitting smoking some good shit in your living room just isnt the same as the freedom you have in Amsterdam.

if you grow or know people that do

then of course you can get as good as or better than dam

a lot of the strains in dam are mislabeled anyway, i mean bubble gum, ak-47, white widow & pp are all the same LMFAO

that being said, the ECSD, LA woman, silver bubble & la confidential were all banging
