Hey, thanks Colin and TC

Colin, we think alike my friend because we've already planned on taking the St. Nicolas tour We're actually going down today to see how busy it is. We attempted to find Boom Chicago yesterday but damn it's crowded and hard to find places down on the Leidsplein on a Saturday After you describing it, though...we're definitely much more certain about it! It honestly sounds perfect. I rolled a little Cheese joint (or attempted to at least) just in case we can go today The night cruise, while certainly touristy, does sound like it would a beautiful sight, though. We've already decided that if we can only take on cruise it will be the St. Nicolas one.

I'm actually super happy you're enjoying the report, TC We're certainly not shutting the place down like you and the Mrs did, though! We loved your report as well and are still referring back to it from time to time. There's a bunch of things you tried that I wanted to look at...but we're just not going to have the time! Geez....I guess we'll just have to come back then, eh?

BTW, the Pink Kush from Amnesia is DAMN good! Nice and warm, and quite strong, body stone that came on pretty quickly. The taste is kushtastic for sure...just super classy. It made us murder a Milka Extra Creamy chocolate bar, too...and then proceeded to make us forget about the TV and trying to fall asleep for awhile

Today we're going to try and hit up the Van Gogh museum and find Boom Chicago to book that cruise. And MAYBE we can find that damn frite place near Dampkring!

Don't know if we'll make any gear purchases today. I'm thinking about trying to find HGF's seedshop, though. Going back to the gear at home is seriously going to make me depressed...and probably sober for a long time, as well. It's not worth it there...and now I'm 100% sure!

Day 3

Another fantastic day! Yet again, we threw our plans out the window and decided to improvise. This morning we woke up and had a cheap breakfast of rolls and grapes that we bought from the AH right before the last platform at CS. We've also realized how easily you can go broke spending money around this town. It's outrageous in some places. Anyway, we ate breakfast and decided to go book a ridiculously touristy bus ride out to the windmills. Yes, it's somewhat sad but we need to take some pictures and such to appease the people at home who are unaware of our *ahem* hobbies On many occasions before leaving we were asked, "Why did you choose Amsterdam??". Most of the time, we answered something to the effect of we're quite interested in the culture, art, and architecture...which we really are, it's just REALLY nice that we happen to enjoy high grade pot as well and this is the place to get it!

After booking our tour I wanted to find HGF's seedshop. We're now becoming pretty familiar with navigating close to CS so we actually found it in about 4 minutes. We were proud Unfortunately, they're closed on Sundays There are a few other shops around, but the Sensi Seedbank is really the only other place I'd want to go. So we decided we'll have to stop by there tomorrow.

I know I said we probably wouldn't buy any gear today...*snicker*...umm, yeah...what the hell was I thinking?? Since we were only a few blocks away from Grey Area why shouldn't we stop in? Of course we did.

The shop was empty! TBH, we were shocked. Everyone knows that GA is small, but it's actually really cosy and I fell in love with this place. The budtender (who is of course American) was SUPER nice and we felt the most comfortable in this shop...for obvious reasons. Visiting the shops run by locals is really nice and all, but after hitting the busier ones you start to see the trend of being judged poorly just for being an American. Hey, not all of us are here for bachelor parties and sex...we know what shops are worth it and where to go! We're stopping by your shops because you're good not because we're lost! Geez! Sorry...anyway, the purchases were LA Woman at 13e/g and Chocolope at 12e/g. Here's the LA Woman:

Another ridiculously good smelling bud. Smells pretty fruity...I'll be surprised if it really tastes of chocolate.

Oh, before I forget...to sing more praises of GA; this was the only shop that allowed us to purchase 1/2 grams AND the only shop that let us take a picture of the menu!

I know a lot of people aren't fans of GA, but if I were fortunate enough to reside in Amsterdam I would try my best to make it to this shop as frequently as possible. We really wanted some t-shirts, but he was out at the time, so we bought a few other branded things to brag about when we got home. Plus, I wanted to spend a few more euros here because of how we were treated.

After scoring at GA, we decided to head down and try and find that damn frite place again. This time, being sober probably helped as we found it immediately upon arriving in the area around Dampkring. Speaking of the shop, we snapped a pic:

We got a large and small frite from the VlemincksX...and let me say, holy shit were they good! They were seriously awesome. We keep getting them with mayo, though...and I'm wondering what would be better. Suggestions?

After finishing the frites, we decided to again try and find Boom Chicago. Again, being sober was probably advantageous as we found the shop right as we got to the area I had marked before. We signed up for a cruise on Tuesday morning at 10:30. Unfortunately, we were the only two signed up and all other slots for the day were full! If they don't have more than 4 people they may cancel the cruise So we're going to stop by there before Tuesday and make sure some more people have signed up. I rolled a Cheese joint especially for our cruise so I hope we get to take it!

We were relieved to have found Boom Chicago and the St. Nicolas tour so thought we would reward ourselves by heading over to Basjoes! As we walked up we were a little disappointed because the tables out front were taken but saw that the shop was literally empty. "Oh, well.", we thought, "We'll get something anyway and sit at the window." I had remembered the Orange Bud being recommended for a nice up and happy high so thought we'd grab a gram of that. At 7e/g it is a fantastic deal! We rolled up about 3/4 of the gram in to one of those preroll cones that you see all over the place and it worked awesome! Not only that, but as I was grinding up the OB, TWO tables were vacated outside! We took our gear out to one of the tables and got completely baked whilst watching people stroll by. Basjoes is in such a beautiful spot as well. We loved sitting there watching people and boats cruise by on the canal directly across the street. It was just a brilliant time. I loved this shop. OH, and I didn't even realize until AFTER we bought our gear that it was James who was working! He was so laid back that I didn't expect it to be him! I was envisioning this crazy character who stood out, not this super chill guy who just kind of strolled around with ease as though the world could be nothing but perfect. I wish we would have spoken with him a bit.....guess we'll have to go back *shrug*

It was a great smoke. Looked a bit strange but tasted great and was plenty strong enough to keep us high for a good couple of hours. We lit up around 7pm and we were still laughing our asses off at around 8:50 or so on the train back to Schipol

Sitting in front of Basjoes, we get down to the last couple of pulls left on the joint and suddenly I can't get that damn Pad Thai out of my head from the first day! I was so motivated to find the place again that I left what was left of the jay in the ashtray! Oh well *shrug*...maybe somebody was brave enough to finish it

Soaring, we headed for the Asian district and actually found the Thai Snack Bar with almost no problem! We immediately order the Pad Thai with chicken (again) and waited. It came out in about 10 minutes in which we watched the insane people walking around. There were some pretty freaky sights to be seen......and it was fantastic

We took our Thai over to the Jordaan and ate on the canal in front of Siberie. Didn't go in...but enjoyed the music from outside After we finished our food, we headed back over to CS and came back here. It's been quite the successful day again...and I'm already dreading our last two days

SO...I think we're done buying gear. We have a good amount now and it's going to be an adventure trying to finish it! We've realized now that staying at a big hotel is annoying if you're a smoker. Blowing smoke out the window and worrying about the damn smoke detector in the room really is a buzzkill. We'd go outside to light up but with some of the shit we're smoking I don't know if we'd make it back up to the room! To make it worse, our room faces to the inside of the hotel and overlooks this damn Patio Restaurant that people sit in and drink/eat at until like 1am We are absolutely getting an apartment and staying down in the city next time. Today we actually made the comment to each other that we'd be able to smoke a lot more if we had a place to go back to close by. Live and learn, right? Plus, it's just another good excuse to come back

Tomorrow is our touristy garbage. Although, I do actually want to see the Van Gogh museum. That'll be cool at least. Hopefully, I'll have something interesting to report back with

good to hear your making your way through amsterdam and enjoying it. im also really enjoying your report as i have my next trip booked up and cant wait to be there.

what has been your favorite weed so far? and i noticed you havent tried the hash yet? why not? i would recommend a nice maroccan hash. even golden soles from grey area is normally very good. maybe even the temple ball from stix. try it in the pipe.. just break off a small piece and chuck it in.. glass screen prefered. but regular screen would work just fine.

Make sure you start on the top floor of the Van Gogh museum otherwise you will go through his life work in reverse order!

when i am asked "why amsterdam" i just say because it is the most fabulous city in the world, then start going on about the art and the architecture and the blah blah blah and that seems cool enough

and i think amsterdam has the best touristy garbage of any city in the world

just think of something that you are really interested in and there will be somewhere in amsterdam to suit that interest ...

@ Cheese: We chose an airport hotel because it seemed like the least hassle, i.e. carrying luggage around an unfamiliar place, free shutle, free internet, etc. It seems like the hotels aimed at the businessman are more "convenient" and much less personal...and actually less convenient as we're smokers *sigh*. BUT...we've learned our lesson and an apartment or houseboat is certainly in the plans for the next trip. It's already decided...we MUST return

I'm not sure what time the trains stop. Probably 11:45pm-12:30am I'd imagine. I'd have to look it up.

My favorite so far has been the Pink Kush for sure. The Mrs is torn between the Pink Kush and the Silver Pearl. I suppose you can break those in to her favorite indica and sativa so far She just said that she HOPES the Chocolope is her favorite after today...lol. The PK tastes and smells just out of this world and the stone is classic. Plus, it was great for getting together The SP tastes fruity with a bit of spice and has a really nice hazy high.

I also really liked the LA Woman last night. It was a bit of a rollercoaster ride, TBH. For me personally, it started off heavy with MMG and made me want to do backflips off the bed in the hotel room. Fairly soon after that the LA Con came around and we were STONED. We zoned out on Dutch MTV and promptly fell asleep. The taste was....alright, I suppose. The high/stone was what shone through, though.

No hash as we've never smoked it and there's just so much new stuff to try! We have so much to go through already...but I'll definitely let you know if we get anything

@ TC: That's a great tip! Thanks! It's quite likely we would have botched that one I'll do my best to keep on top of the reports as well. I've read so many other good reports here that I feel like it's my duty and priviledge to provide our own views and opinions as well. I'm just thankful people want to read it

@ SS67: I actually thought the same thing yesterday. Like, "Well, at least if we have to be tourists THIS is the place to be them!". OH! You totally just reminded me...when we were sitting outside at Basjoes this HUGE walking tour came by (speaking something other than English) and evidently Basjoes was on the list of places to see! We laughed our asses off and felt honored to be part of those tourists' experience

We've also discovered why you recommend the "How Not to Get By a Bicycle" section of the eBook. Bicyclists are insane. It's hilarious that one of the smallest, most fragile vehicles, actually RULES the road. We've seen cars come to a screeching halt because a couple bicyclists were just cruising through an intersection taking their sweet time and not giving half a shit that the car was flying up on them. They EXPECTED them to stop...never even flinching. We loved it

So today we got up early! 9:20am or so...which means we'll head out at 11am and get to the seedshop and windmill tour. I'm thinking we'll end the day smoking some Chocolope outside Amnesia. We've decided that the Jordaan is our favorite area of the city so far. It's just beautiful over there and much more laid back. We want to live there....quite badly

Loving it and its really buzzing me for my upcoming trip SOOOOOOON!

Day 4

Today was...an alright day. Yes...just alright. We had to be tourists or 4 hours or so and it was mildly soul-crushing to say the least. BUT...we got to take some really nice pictures, which the Mrs is really in to...so that was fun. It was actually really enjoyable to see some of the old fishing villages that people still reside in. There were a couple of small houses for sale overlooking one of the huge-ass lakes. I had overheard an older English couple asking one of the guides how much these houses are going for on the market. When I asked her what he had told her she replied with, "300,000." 300,000 euros or pounds?? Either one is bad!! These things were TINY! We were still daydreaming about owning one though and living a short train ride from Amsterdam. OH, and then my wonderful fiance proceeded to let me know that as soon as I die she's just going to move here. I know! Terrible *shaking head*. She was only half-serious...and I told her that I don't blame her and I'd probably want to come here and smoke my life away, too. It was kind of sweet in a way

OH...so let me start before the stupid tour! LOL...geez. Still a little out of it...okay. So yeah, before the tour our first stop of the day was HGF's seedshop! Damn...there were some good choices. I REALLY wanted to grab some Cheese beans but know that it gets ridiculously smelly and I need to be somewhat discreet. So...lol...I'm not sure I did much better, but I settled on some Feminized Trainwreck. I'm not exactly sure of the flowering times and stuff...hey, maybe someone here knows? USBL? I don't even know if he's reading these...lol. Anyway, that info would be nice. I might be able to find it somewhere *shrug*.

After making my purchase we headed over to the post office near GA. It was pretty easy to find and we're already finding how well we can navigate remarkable. Pretty insane. The post office was really nice and the staff was quite friendly and helpful. The very nice woman even asked if I wanted to put my email address or something on the card in case it got lost. "Uhh....no thanks. I'm sure it'll get there!".

With our mission achieved at the post office, we decided we'd have to eat before we go on our freakin' tour. We're starving and don't want to go too far from the Damrak. So we walked a bit and then we saw Ben. As soon as we noticed it we immediately thought..."BURGER BAR!". Damn...that place has the BEST fuckin' burgers. Seriously

Then we when on our tour...blah blah blah.

So after the tour was done they let us off right in front of CS. It was right about 19:00 and I had already decided that we should go to Amnesia. We walked over through the Jordaan and past Grey Area because I wanted to stop in and compliment the LA Woman we had last night and see when he'd have shirts in again. Of course, it was packed, even on a Monday night after the tourists have left! Crazyiness. So we walked past and just went straight to Amnesia. When we met with hippy, he had asked to see our map with the shops we wanted to hit for sure. Upon coming across Amnesia he remarked that it was a very good shop and when we went there to order a "refreshing drink". So upon arriving we did just that and ordered two! I'm not sure if it's somewhat of a secret or not, but it's kind of strange drink that grows on you with each sip! By the end of them, we agreed that they were really good! We ordered our drinks and rolled up the Chocolope that we got from GA yesterday. I have to say that I was pretty impressed! It tasted REALLY nice and somewhat fruity with this sort of burnt-brownie aftertaste on the exhale. Quite intriguing flavor for sure. We really loved it! It was a great up high that lasted FOREVER. We were still buzzing pretty good 3 hours later! There were so many times that we got each other laughing our asses off on the train back to Schipol. And AGAIN...we stopped at that DAMN AH and got icecream bars! Those Magnum icecream bars are the devil...seriously. If you've been here and had them you know exactly what I'm talking about. ANYway...the Chocolope was really nice and is definitely somewhat of a stand-out.

So that's it for today. Like I said, we took a ton of pictures so they haven't been loaded yet. It's a lot of the normal landscape pics and such. Stuff I'm sure you've seen ten quintillion times already. Hopefully, we'll be able to take our St. Nicolas tour tomorrow morning and eat some poffertjes!! I'm thinking of having them at the Studio 2 as that's the place that was recommended.

yeah last january i thought the chocolope from grey area was really nice both in taste and the effect

if i had a nicely carved wooden weed box on the coffee table for my guests to enjoy, there would be chocolope in there at all times, one of my favorites
