Not sure where to stay....help!

Post by ivorytusk »

Hi guys,

My boyfriend and I are having trouble deciding where to stay for our 5 nights in 'dam. We're looking at staying at the Tulip Inn Amsterdam Centre or Hotel De Westertoren. Can anyone recommend one over the other and why? Or any other suggestions of places to stay? We are on a bit of a tight budget but would like somewhere clean, quiet (if possible), close to everything central, and of course....near some great coffee shops!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks :)

I think the Tulip Inn Amsterdam Centre Hotel will be about 450 Euro (5 nights) for a double room with private shower/toilet, and the Hotel De Westertoren is about 375 Euro.

We want to do it cheaply but not stay in a shit hole!

What about an apartment, i am sure you could get one for that kind of money. Then you will have your own pad for a week.

I always recommend checking Tripadvisor when I want to check on accommodations.

Haven't stayed at the Hotel De Westertoren but the G/F and I regulary stay at the Tulip Inn Amsterdam Centre and can recommend it to you. Clean and friendly hotel but hasn't got a fridge in the room and you can't smoke in your room. Don't worry though, coffeeshops Any Day and Betty Boop are very close and have outside seating if its not raining.
If you book through this link http://www.booking.com/country/nl.html?aid=200156 , I think the forum gets 0.0001p or something, but every 0.0001p counts ;-)

You couldn't get much further away from the center than that place.

For similar money the Hotel Cornerhouse is bang in the middle of everything: http://www.hotelcornerhouse.nl/

Check out this site it has apartments that have great rates most everything you need and most are smoke friendly. Since I found this site I don't stay in hotels anymore, why not have your own pad.
