No, in most of the coffeeshops. I did hear of one that was taking credit cards but I dont recall which one. Euros only.

Nope. Pretty much all coffeeshops don't have a machine to pay digitally. Only cash. Probably some tourist traps do (Bulldog). Just get some euros from an ATM.

Keep in mind that credit card issuers can adjust credit terms based on where one shops.
Have you used your credit card at merchants specializing in secondhand clothing, retread tires, bail bond services, massages, casino gambling or betting? Your credit card issuer may be taking note -- and making decisions about your creditworthiness based on your purchasing behavior. The reason: Buying used clothing or retread tires may be an indication of financial distress and a preamble to missed credit card payments or defaults.(http://www.creditcards.com/credit-card- ... t-1282.php)
I don't use credit cards at liquor stores for that reason. And I'm not going to use them at any coffeeshops.

surely one with good payment history and an established credit ranking would be able to use ones card anywhere they would like.

i highly doubt they would cancel your cards if you buy alcohol. or shop at select stores.

im sure they would just be happy your spending money and paying your bills.

however if you are not paying your bills.. and missing payments on the regular.. im sure they will try and use that against you

also i think it would be damn cool if coffeeshops took credit cards... although i think i would be in some trouble if they did as it would make it very easy to purchase more even if i didnt have the funds.

Dutch people only use their creditcard in restaurants or abroad. So it should only be for foreigners. And in their countries weed is nog legal, so it wouldn't be a good idea to have "Amsterdam Mellow Yellow weed, Amnesia Haze 4.1grams" on your bill...

WHAT THE? Really? 1 euro = 2.2guilders. And the amount per euro/guilder is pretty much the same.

Yeah it was well cheap in the days of the guilder, I went for a weekend and spent about £30 in total; food, beer and smokeables, I can spend that in a single coffeeshop visit easily now.
