Have finally made the decision to stop smoking baccy and just smoke pure weed.
3 days and counting so far

not long I know , but gotta start somewhere

and to be honest i'm finding it easier to not smoke baccy than I thought I would

Good luck to anyone else giving up

Cheers, puffpuffgive. Thank you for the link. I guess this result is all about the chemical additives of commercial tobacco making smoke a lot smoother and inhaling deeper easier. Interesting nevertheless .
no its not that... they used a smoking machine in the tests
i think the basic gist of it is that the thc molecule attaches itself to the nicotine molecule, the nicotine molecule is absorbed more readily into your bloodstream than the thc molecule, hence the effect is quicker and stronger
i love smoking pure too, but tabac is how i'm used to

You're right with this thing with the smoking machine. I'm sorry for that. Thank you for this.
Nevertheless confusing for me because of their contrary characteristics I mentioned(shame I can post no source).
Another mystery of life

Firstly - Hi, this is my first post.
Your first question looks have been answered, I would agree that if your joint isn't burning properly it could be because:
a) - Its not been flushed or dried correctly. In many coffeeshops bud is flash dried to get their product to market as soon as is possible, to stop it going mouldy and becoming worthless and to free storage space as their is still an associated risk in Holland, large amounts of cannabis will still land you in serious trouble. Why would they fully cure a product they see as being purely commercial, when all that is required to sell it is a nice smell and a good effect, shame really but it is how it is. It is unlikely to be flushed as weight is increased when feeding it chemicals right up until harvest.
b) - There could be an issue with the way it has been rolled, if its too tight it may not have enough space to burn, think when doing a bong the material expands a little in the bowl, this is what is happening in your joint if rolled too tightly there leaves no room to expand and so cant burn.
I have found plenty of UK crappy dealerweed that burns hard and black, this is because it is likely to have been treated as a) above and could also be contaminated. A really nasty bit I picked up yesterday actually sparked when burning in my bong, tasted really dodgy and left my throat sore. I would not think coffeeshop bud is contaminated but in the UK it seems to only really be the imported weed that is like this. Avoid!
As for your second question - NO!
I gave up tobacco 6 years ago and whilst I initially smoked more bud, it levelled out after a few months and now I have a much greater understanding of how such a little amount of the right product can go such a long way. It somehow wont stop me rolling a right proper fattie when I can afford the bud to, but nothing quite like a big fat pure spliff of natures finest! If a mixed joint is passed around I always turn it down, call it unnecessary if u want but I kinda see it as contaminated as soon as just one tiny bit of tobacco falls into the paper.
As for my friends who smoke tobacco, many say 'I put just enough tobacco in to jut keep it burning' this means about 10-20% tobacco but really I cant see how it helps it burn if you have the right bud. When smoking top quality, nicely cured bud I have no issues with it burning at all and have a white powdery ash left over rather than the black hard ash encountered with more commercial cabbage' found everywhere in the UK.

On my very first visit to Dam back in 1988, long before skunk was in vogue, I bought my first ever bag of sensi, having only ever smoked grass once before - it was all solids in London at the time and proceeded to skin up a baccy and grass biftah. My mate and I joined a mixed group sat around in a big circle, sparked up and passed it on... to a huge round of coughing and criticism.
"What's in that, bro?"
"tobacco and grass."
"No-one smokes grass and tobacco in Amsterdam and it was very rude of you to make me try."
"Yeah, bro - take that spliff and stuff it where the sun don't shine."
Thus began my affair with neat grass, and to this day I smoke it without tobacco. I went through a period in the mid 90s when grass was difficult to get hold of but skunk & soapbar weren't - then I mixed. But since 1997 when I quit baccy for good it's been neat all the way. As I mostly grow my own, I keep the bottom leaf as mixer and it works well. In Dam, I usually use a base of Thai or Jamaican - something that isn't too expensive or too effective - plus whatever happens to be on the menu that I fancy.

I disagree...roll yourself a pure spliff and see how long it lasts...and when you just want a baccy hit ,have a fag...
