thats funny. i was watching an interview of 1 of the victims father, he has studied the case more than most & reckons he was innocent, i know very little about it but apparently the official story is the bomb was put on board in malta, but what didnt come out in the trial was that the night before there was a break-in at pan ams baggage area at heathrow.

and a briefcase, mysteriously vanished from the wreckage site along with an over abundance of USA helicopters also appeared on the scene very swiftly after the crash. Lots of conspiracy theories with this story.

i'm sure there are larger diplomatic pressures at play in such decisions, pressures which come from outside scotland.
add to that the practice or idea of releasing prisoners who are near death is not one unique to the scottish government or legal system but one practised throughout the united kingdom.
i probably should have just said "aw be nice to scotland" as i was passing by.
i'm not quite sure what about my comment provoked you to such interest.
