Post by MRCHEESE »

hey guys new to this forum but cannot get enough of your words of wisdom. Was looking to get a new strain for the growy and came across this ed rosenthal super bud at sensi seeds which is marked up at a killer 140 euros. just wondering if any of you smokers out there have had any experience or encounters with this bud, and if possible is there any in the coffeshops out in dam as i will be out there in the near future on a good old fashion strain hunt!!!!. thanks guys any info would be much appreciated!!!!

I read about it in the Big Book of Buds 3. It looks absolutely fuckin' amazing for sure. If you want the lowdown on it you should head over the bookstore or library and look it up in that edition.

I'm sure it's far too new to even have been mentioned in the 'dam yet, though. The price of beans should tell you how new it is as well

jack herer is even more expensive and popular for such a long time now. so this not neccesarily is an indication.

I suppose *shrug*. I've seen some pretty reasonable prices on Jack Herer not that long ago, though. I'm pretty sure they were a bit less than $100/10 for unfeminized.

do you mean the book or the bud? because ive got a catalogue from at least a year ago selling the seeds (think its sensi seeds, have to try find it)

with the jack herer i would think its probably to do with the high yields & the fact its such a strong smoke, probably the best bang for your buck possible

I meant that it's probably too new to be sold in shops yet. We certainly didn't see it anywhere. Big Book of Buds 3 actually has a whole write-up on how it's been like 20 years in the making.

I've been reading about the Jack Herer for years and am still kicking myself for not trying it out whilst we were in the 'dam. Yet another thing to leave for our next trip :)

Hmm...I'll check it out when I get home tonight. Maybe I can figure out some way to scan it if I'm remembering the story right...

If you scroll down the page about it is on there, nothing there that says when it was released, the decades in the making comment doesn't mean anything either as seed breeders often release a new breed then rework them over & over.

As per usual, you guys are absolutely correct :)

I snapped a pic this morning of the backstory, which is actually the next two pages after the actual description of the bud. The pic has been resized but I can post a link to a larger one. It basically reiterates what you both said; it's been refined and released by Sensi Seeds on a few different occasions with the two most recent releases coming in the late '90s and early 2000s.

The picture of the plant on the previous pages looks insane, though  It's actually a bit surprising to hear that you didn't have great results with it, USBL.
