I will be staying in zoelond and I was going to stop in Utrecht to pick up some gear. I was wondering if any one has any experience either good or bad to share with me. thanks Bryan

I kinda like Wietstock and de Boot. click and drag this map to Utrecht, then zoom in and click the various pot leaves.

The shop with the best weed (imo) in Utrecht is now El Torro. It is owned by the same people that own Mellow Yellow and The Noon in Amsterdam. It is completely remodeled and serves good food as well. It opens at 0900.

The Culture Boat, that FBN mentions, is a very nice chilled smoking experience, on the water. Very light and bright cause of all the windows on the boat. It sits in the canal directly across from a prison, for drug offenders. I definitely recommend this place. Opens @ 1300.

Andersom is another nice shop. Nice chilled space downstairs and very spacious. Great place to meet locals. Opens at 1000.

Wietstok is a sister shop of Andersom's. It's a rather small shop with a friendly staff but doesnt have much of a selection of weed. Opens @ 1000.

Have a terrific time! Peace.

Thanks FlyByNite and Puffin13 (and fishh2o for raising the issue with such perfect timing )-- I'm planning to visit Utrecht briefly on my Amsterdam trip next week and this'll certainly help me out too!

Another shop I was considering is Koffiedik.
Anyone have anything to say about the current status of that one?

Ive just got back from utrecht today.

El Torro is definatly the best bud, but the highest prices too. (note some reviews may be out of date as it changed ownership not so long ago)

Koffiedik is ok, limited menu that never changes but its bright and airy and the staff are nice. Also at the other end of the same street is Freak, which is worth a visit.

Zanzi has been refurbished recently and looks really nice inside, and its cheap and good. Shabab is just down the road and also worth a look.

I like T'grasje and de vipshop as well although theyre both in residential areas (but still only 10/15 mins walk from the centre) so make sure you have a map before you set out.

Have fun and I hope this gets to you in time :)

Sadly, El Torro is now closed, until further notice. Greed is the reason. Actually there was a conflict between the former owner and the new co-owner. It's been closed for a couple of weeks now. Bummer! :(

noooooooooooooo, im over in a few weeks! were the old owners still connected then? Its changes so much I hadnt realised.

I thought the plqce had an odd atmosphere, but was defiantly the best.

RIP Sarasani, it just isnt worth smoking now its gone :(
