Hashish Psychosis?

Hi all =)

I´ve been wondering something for a while now and I thought I could check it with you guys.

Has anyone out there ever heard anything about something called a "Hash Psychosis?" In sweden we learn in school, and such, that if you smoke hash you´re very likely to get into a mental state called a Psychosis and you will never be able to function socially ever again. They tell us that you can get a Psychosis just by trying it even once and because of this information from adults, edjucators and the authority many people get a twisted view of cannabis and think that if you try it once you will be put in a mentalhospital or something.

They obviously try to scare us from using cannabis with this kind of propaganda and note that this only concerns the use of Hashish, they never even once mentions marijuana.

I dont believe a second of that anti-cannabispropaganda but my question is this:

Have you guys ever heard of this Hashish Psychosis or is this a scaretactic they only use in sweden?

Yeah I heard of that before they used to say that here during communist times and even later but most people now know it is bullshit,but for a long time it was belived they also belived tha homosexuality was a mental illness then. Funny they talk about the "dark ages"being hundereds of years ago but it was much more recent than that people began to wake up. and light up the joints

Propaganda it is my friend and governments have been doing it for years. In the 20's it was thought 'blacks' (yes racism is a massive reason it was banned in the first place) smoked their pot with tobacco because if they were to smoke it pure, it would kill them stone dead! See Reefer Madness videos from the 1920's, sounds like your education system is using them for information! Its so dangerous to lie to children as when they and their friends start to experiment and realise they have been fed a pack of lies, what’s to stop the believing that Crack or Heroin is just the same?

It is worth mentioning that any substance that alters the way in which you think, might not be a good idea to take if you have a history of mental problems. Also if you smoke to excess (or do anything to excess) you can also run in to problems... But cannabis is a relatively benign drug and your educators are filling your brains with bullshit.

there has been many studies on this, the truth is:
ONLY 2-5% of people are likely to get a psychosis, thats no argument to make it illegal for the rest 95% is it?

Yeah exactly and I´ve heard that cannabis accually contains a substance that does the exact opposite, it accually prevents psychosis.

BUt do they use the "risk-of-getting-a-psychosis" as an argument against cannabis where you live or is it just something the swedish goverment use as an argument?

Cuz I´ve never seen anyone except swedish anti-cannabisppl use it as an agument against legalizing weed.

never once have i heard of that being used as a scaretactic in canada.. well at least the province i live in.

they warned me it would make me hungry and fall asleep early though.
