r3l3ntless + nino - made it to the DAM baby june 19th-22 09!
Hi guys and gals,
Took me a while, but I had to give back. This site helped me a lot on my travels reading all the lovely strain reports and also kick ass travelogues, a few being TwoCannucks and Twichaldino and also luvtick, more recently great reports by Geekymonkey. Hopefully by putting this up it will help a few people also.
So the time had finally arrived, me and my travel companion and old school stoner mate Nino were leaving for Amsterdam. This was my 2nd trip but Nino's first, no matter how much you try to explain to someone what Amsterdam is like they will never fully understand till they GO!
Edinburgh - polished off the last of the superb but very expensive Lemon haze (£20 a G) before we boarded the plane, no messing everything goes smoothly. We are leaving for 3 days of just pure CHILLIN, that feels so nice, no agenda just freestylin.
Will be back with lots more plus pics which makes things a bit more enjoyable.

So we arrived at Schipol and chip nip to Centraal admiring the graffiti on the way, the time is now 10pm exact. Soon as we come out of the station......boom the smell of weed hit us str8 away. our hotel was a 2 minute walk from the station exactly opposite Barbizon Palace. Just dropped bags off and out no messin about. here is a pic of our room after our first night of buying, we went a bit crazeee but hey its the first night.

So we zoom out past all the coffeshops on Warmoestraat not buying anything, just walking and taking everything in and all of a sudden it starts pouring, really bad, im from Scotland so im used to it so we keep walking. We notice the streets go from packed to completely dead. We dont have a clue where we are but we stumble accross Bluebird i remember this place from travelougues and Blue Cheese comes to mind, so we go up the stairs and buy 2 g's and roll a fatty and smoke it in the smoking room upstairs. Never really chilled here but the BC was my favorite smoke of the trip. So we try and get down the stairs without fallin on our asses, the rain had stopped and we were cruisin again. Im sorry cant remember the price of the BC i think it was 12 euros. Very nice taste of Blueberry coming thru the cheese, it sort of energised us to keep walking and make a few more purchases before we head back to the hotel. It was now about 11ish. I liked the Bluebird very nice chilled shop with a cool budtender, skinny guy with long hair. Very helpful and also told us how to get to Basjoes.
Ill leave you with a pic we took the next day, next to come was Basjoes.

Just a qick pic of what we bought at Basjoes..... My favorite place!!Im sorry about the time its taking for updates but im very busy with work at the moment, i will try my best to add something very soon.
Anyways Basjoes is a very chilled place and i loved the vibe of this coffeeshop compared to all the others i visited while i was in the city. I dont know what it was but Damn i miss that place. James was very cool guy and so relaxed and laid back in the Zone budtender ever!!!! His replies were so laidback and slow it seemed like half a minute had passed before he replied. He never had any SSH or Terminator, but he sold us some Heaven Haze which i cant really remember much about as we also bought a couple grtams of Bas Special in here and it was a heavy smoke, indica if i remember correctly. All the product bought in this shop was really good quality. All the weed was kept in sealed bags instead of your usual boxes or tubs. The shop itself was very dimmly lit and had a few Americans and locals chillin. When we went in James was busy knocking back some kids i still remember clearly "take yer ass back to the Grey Area i aint selling to no minors" me and Nino had a good chuckle at this.

Back to the report just as we were leaving Basjoes James calls me over to the desk and goes into the back of the shop and bring me out a phat bud of SSH and smiles "for you" he says, and what a bud it was....Thanks James this was some nice SSH very crystally and dense buds, super strong smell. Unfortunately i didnt get a pic of this as we sat and smoked this in Basjoes with James until he closed. So if you are ever there make sure yo ask for some SSH.

Thanks sorry for the time between updates, ill try n finish this up by the endf of the week.geoffk wrote:Likin' yer updates.
So we stumble out of Basjoes and fall into The Greenplace i could remember from a trip report that this was a good place to be, so in we go, very busy shop, the terrace was also rammed to the core. The only thing i was wanting was Caramello the same shit we were getting back in the U.K 5g eggs. Budtender was a bit vexed and it was really busy so we just buy and fly, the Caramello was 10 euros i think. On our way back to the hotel i realise i dont have my phone........Shit 2 hours in the Dam and iv already lost my Blackberry, just thinking about where weve been and having to walk round all the shops put a downer on me str8 away, but hey wait 1 min whats this in my inside pocket haha my phone...what a relief, we turn around to loads of people looking at us and having a good laugh, to this i put my phone up in the air and shrug my shoulders.....Damn stoners
So we try and head back to the hotel and we buy some waffle thing huge, very nice these were consumed every night we were there. We make a big fatty of the Caramello, doesnt grind too well so its a hand job im afraid, very sticky and oily, we light her up and boom yeeeehaaaaa uts the same smell and taste of the good shit we were getting back home, this put us both on our asses proper style, what a rollercoaster ride that we cant even finish the spliff and put half back in the ashtray never to be touched again until out last our in the Dam (that will come later). We are soooo stoned that we have to make a j of the blue cheese just to cut thru the effects of the caramello and boy did it work. Job done sleep time. Our first night is over.....................bring on Day2

Day 2
We get up early and decide we are gonna hit up Harlemerstraat so we grab breakfast and chip. Nino has some pre rolls of Bas special which we toke on the way up there. Nice neighbourhood this feels a bit more upmarket, we dont really go into any shops were just nosing about really. We go into Dampkring to buy Tazman haze as recomended by trip reports, nice shop very modern and good budtender very helpful, and also gave us some posters. Computer screen menus in the counter, i prefer the other ones really. Buy a g of Tazman think it was 12 euros cant remember, go upstairs top floor by the window looking out to popeyes, we have barely taken our seats when the barmaid asks us what we are drinking, very rude girl she was too pissed , we ordered a couple of chocomel as we couldnt be assed with her attitude and continue rolling the tazman. This stuff looked and smelled very nice and hazy but once we lit up the number it was shit, really nasty near to no taste at all. We end up giving the spliff to the guys at the next table and leave. Was a nice shop with a huge menu, will go back to test out thier goods, maybe we just had a bad batch.

Safter this we just wonder around aimlessly we decide to try and find Grey Area but no luck, we head back to the hotel to grab my mate Kamikazee who is working in the Dam so he can help us find it. He takes us straight to the shop. Not hard to find if you know your way around and just behind Dam square. Shop is packed so we chill till it emtys out a bit, Adam is on and a real cool guy who really took his time explaining the different strains. We went a bit wild in this shop as everything smelled and tasted really nice. I think i bought "g's of BBC and was it cheesy, i was gonna try and find Homegrown Fantasy but didnt have the time so we just got the cheese in here. Very cheesy !2 euros a gram and just like the cheese we get back home, chong!!!!
This is just a shot of the street.

and another one closer, these guys outside the shop were working on all the days we went.
I know people were saying this is a small shop, but we didnt think it would be this small.

Heres a pic while waiting in the q, soory bout the qaulity.

So heres The Big Buddah Cheese.
Liked this so much i bought another 4 grams the next day.

Also bought in here was a gram of Silver Bubble i thin a cross between silverhaze x bubblegum.

This was Ninos purchase which i cant really comment on the smoke but the bud was super frosty, ill try and get a close up fer ya, anyways here it is.

Oooh - nostalgia - I love it and hate it at the same time, now I just wanna be back in the dam blazing up the finest buds the coffeeshops have to offer, whilst planning where I'll be spending lunch... Damn - those were like the biggest decisions I had to make in the Dam,
So jealous of SoulRider now, the lucky git gets to enjoy that everyday - gah!!!
BTW, nice report mate - enjoyable and familiar lol

Awesome and well done!
I know not everyone likes GA but we absolutely loved the shop when we visited not that long ago. By some freak accident, we actually found the shop right away and when we arrived there was not one person in the queue
Jon was working that day and he couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. IMHO, GA is one of the top 5 shops in the 'dam. Super glad to hear you found it and enjoyed it so much
Good report, sir
