Some Early Morning Pic in the Centrum

Post by Gnarleydudeman »

Hi,

I thought it was time I uploaded some photos.

These pics were all taken last summer so are not recent but if u are like me and just enjoy some early morning photos of their favourite city then this is for you. Please note i am clearly not a photographer but just woke up at 05:30 one morning when my friend came crashing into the room after a long night out - I was up so after a quick early morning joint I went for a stroll at 06:30 with my camera. As my hotel was in Warmeostraat I caught some rare shots of this street completely empty.

I walked towards Damrak and snapped a few of the tourist boat area and Damrak

The tram driver is looking straight at me, probably wondering if im going to get out of the way!

Image

Passed the Dampkring seed shop, sadly too early to go and have a look

Image

Thought I would make my way to Barney's as it was open and unlikely to be busy

Image

In fact it was empty!

Image

Good job too as it gave me a chance to have a chat with the budtender, nice fella. He sold me a gram of each of the following

Image

and then gave me a bong to use, so clean it could have been new! I put some G13 Haze in it (being early morning and a Sativa) and had many hits. I also loaded it up for another customer who came in and wasnt sure whether to buy any G13, he ended up buying some after that. My favourite was actually the Crimea Blue but I didnt get to try it until later that day as I tend to leave the Indicas til later, not that it makes much difference after all the smoke over there

Image

I made my way back to the hotel and had breakfast just in time for my friends to start waking up, nobody realised I went out early until I showed them the photos.

It was a really magical time of day as the city is your own, it was one of my favourite memories out of all of the 6 times I have been to Amsterdam, this year I havent made it yet - but I will!

Thanks for viewing!

A very nice shot of our frontage at number 37 during the European Championships. The cute graffiti cartoon characters on the opposite side are by Hendrix.

Thanks - we popped in a couple times as it was just across the road from our hotel (Old Quarter).

Always noticed lots of graf paint in Amsterdam, as long as it's in the right place (which in the pic it is) and doesn't ruin property then I'm all for it! Thanks for the info.

Love the pics reminds me of waking up that early and smoking a joint on the beach or intown, down the street when nobody is moving, just me on my skateboard. The city seems so still at that time, like your the only thing moving or it could just be the lonely high.
