American beer, in Europe? Why on earth do they want to do that?
To show European beer drinkers how lucky Europeans are? :D

Pauli, I am with you on that one.

The web-site seems to indicate they serve Dutch beers, not Yank ones!

I am up for Dutch beers!

Here, we call Yank beer "sex in a canoe" or "sex on a beach", because it is f*cking near water! :D

I don't think ya'll have had any American microbrews. That'd be like saying all Belgian bier is like Stella. Enjoy yer ignorance.

Enjoy yer ignorance.
Right back at ya, bro!

I have tried many many Yank beers, including many microbrews.
Sorry, but, to me, most of them do NOT hold a candle to most European beers.

There might be some good Yank microbrews, but, why on earth would you want to drink a Yank microbrew, in Europe, when you could drink a European microbrew?

you just seem to hate everything and anything american. iv traveled the world and drank many a beer and imho our microbrews are nearly as good as any euro beer iv had. you cant accurately compare laafe or gulpner with coors light, miller,or budweiser. a better comparison would be with widmer or redhook or sierra nevada or something.

iv been to canada multiple times and have had molson canadian and kokanee. i dont generalise all canadian beer on that stuff.

That's not true!

I don't like MOST American beer (of the hundreds that I have sampled), that's my preference. Some Yank microbrews are quite enjoyable. Similarly, I do not like many Canuck beers. I do enjoy most European beers except for many wheat beers. (most are way too yeasty for me.)

Do you not think that bringing American (or Canadian) brew to Europe (Coals to Newcastle :?: ) sort of embodies the, often American (although not limited to American, Canadians can be guilty of this as well), attitude of "This place is nothing like Bumphuck Iowa, I hate it here" when visiting a foreign country?

On another front, I do, sometimes, critcise American foreign policy. But that is because I dislike imperialism. If France, the UK, Canada, the Netherlands, etc had foreign policy like that of the US (i.e. acted like the neighborhood bully), then I would be equally fierce in my criticism. Indeed, on most other matters, I criticise my own country more harshly than any other country.

Finally, I have seen your replies, mocking other nationals with their steroetypes, so it cuts both ways.

I hope that was polite enough for you.

where have i mocked anyone? maybe your definition of mocking is different from mine, but i'm pretty sure id remember if i did. and please tell me where i said you had to be polite in this post?

if i did make a crack about someone it was probably a joke maybe in bad taste. my mom is an immigrant to this country from europe so i try and be sensitive on these subjects. im only guilty of pointing out the double standards for some people on this and other forums i frequent. people making cracks about my country or others. things that if i had said i would be labeled a "ignorant, close minded hate mongering american". i guess im a tad defensive/sensitive from some of the things iv heard from foreigners on other forums. things like "who cares about lockerby it was only a bunch of useless yanks that died" and "i laughed when i saw those planes flying into the world trade center on tv". iv had my country insulted to my face as well..in siberie coffeeshop to be exact. other places most likely as well. im not perfect by any means..no one is, but i cant imagine myself seriously insulting anyones homeland or heritage because not only is it rude and in bad form/ taste but its also extremely tacky. if i offended anyone i apologize.

Yeah I thought you were one of the good ones. Maybe he is referring to my post where I'm telling myself I need to be more polite, like you. I know I mock people
