Where's Andy?
So it's been over a month since I've heard anything from SoulRider, AKA Andy...
I haven't seen him in any of the usual shops that he frequented when I've been in Amsterdam... and I'm wondering where he's gone off to???
Have you dropped off the face of the Earth? Still in Amsterdam? Whats the story mate??
anyone else here know what happened to Andy?
just a little worried mate...
peace,
hippy

Hey Guys, I am alive and damn it I'd never touch the Evil that is WOW. Saw too many of my friends fuck up on that shit, it should have some health warning. I didn't have internet when it came out, so I never got into it, and I'm glad, i'd have not even visited Ams, let alone moved there!
Really busy as the conference season has started up, been in prague since last week, still here, until saturday, then I leave here and drive straight to Berlin. I left amsterdam 9th and return on the 26th.
Down in Dry County...
Lol only joking...
The Czech Republic is a beautiful country.
Recently, on a trip to Vienna, I was caught out by the Austrian motorway toll charges because I didn't know about them, and got landed with a €120 fine. I decided for my trip to Prague I wouldn't be caught out, so I found out in advance. I had to buy my toll sticker at the border crossing, so I set my tom-tom to display the border point, and set out on my way.
When I got to the border crossing I discovered a small problem, there was no crossing or checkpoints, just an open road...
Determined not to pay another fine, I reprogrammed the tom-tom to get me to Prague without toll roads. This took me on a windy route through one of the most beautiful countries I have had the pleasure of driving through. A really amazing place.
When I got to Prague, I was very impressed, although it was dark, I couldn't wait to explore. Unfortunately, no exploring this night though, just off to bed ready for work in the morning.
I had a long day and finally finished work at 7pm. I was really tired, so the plan was for a small walk into town to grab some food, and then back to the hotel to watch the England v Croatia game, as I had missed it while driving but had managed to download it at the hotel. I walked out of the hotel turned left down Parizska looking out for cheap places to eat. Boy did I picked the wrong road....
Here are some of the shops I walked past as I went down the street. Hugo Boss, Luis Vuitton, Dior, Cartier, I could go on for ages, but you get the point, and there was loads of other premuim shops as well selling all kinds of brands. I don't recall ever seeing so many designer shops in one street, there were so many...
Eventually I got to the big square at the end of the road, and I was really bowled over by the beauty. After about 20 mins of exploring I found a little sandwich place where I bought a lovely sub and a fresh fruit smoothie, and a bottle of fanta for later, and it cost me 164-ck, just over €6, pretty cheap
I made the journey back safely then sat and watched a thoroughly enjoyable England victory, come on
The excitement was all too much for me, so I went to bed again
Next day was an earlier finish at work, which meant still some daylight left with which to explore Prague. I didn't bring any marijuana with me to Prague, I didn't want to get into trouble, but still I found myself looking for parks and nice scenic and secluded areas, I think that is also influenced by the fact I grew up in the country, so it's ok
I went back into town and was walking through the city sight-seeing, taking photos of the beautiful buildings, when I suddenly decided to put my camera away. It seemed everytime I went around a corner, I found a building even more interesting than the previous. I soon realised I would spend most of the time with the camera glued to my face, so decided to put it away and just marvel, my photo's never do the buildings justice anyway..
As I was wandering around in my tourist stupor, a person spoke to me, but I didn't hear them properly, when they repeated, I realised what they were offering
OK, so I didn't bring any with me.. I paid 1000-ck for about a gram, €40. That was pretty expensive, but he gave me some papers
Now I just needed a lighter and some cigarettes. I wandered around for 10 minutes before finding a souvenir shop that sold lighters for 39-ck(€1.5), but not cigarettes. Eventually I found some cigarettes in an off-licence, I got 20 marlboro lights for 82-ck, just over €3, but later saw cigarettes from 65-73ck, under €3
I then wandered up a great hill on the other side of the river, to try and have a nice smoke, what I found was a massive park, well first I found a massive skate park, then a massive park. This really is a good day
I wandered around the park having a nice time just chilling and taking it easy, there was barely anyone around, and it was only just 7.30pm. After spending some time in the park, I decided it was time to go back to the hotel and relax, where I typed this up.
I have not been to that many European cities - Dusseldorf, Amsterdam, Vienna, Den Haag, and Prague, but I must say Prague is definitely the most beautiful city I have visited so far. If you are looking for a European city to visit, and haven't been to Prague, I thoroughly recommend it.
I still have another 8 nights to go here in this beautiful city before I head on over to Berlin for a week, I wonder what other wonders the next 16 days are going to hold...
Well it started on sunday with the Prague Marathon, what a thouroughly crazy and entertaining day. This city is amazing, I have added it to my list of cities to live in before I die
Spoke to some italians by the giant metronome, we were just chatting and I pulled out a spliff, at the same time they did
Nice smoke session sitting by the metronome, looking over the roof of Prague, with a load of skaters riding around behind us, a marathon going on around the roads below us, oh and a football match in the stadium behind the skate park. What a crazy and amazing time.
The thing I like about this european travelling, is staying in all the 5 star hotels for free
as well as seeing the cities of course.
On a personal note, I have moved out of the Red Light and live over the back of Vondelpark, not in the park, but not far away
It's a lovely area and I'm really enjoying it. Only go into town every now and again after work. I don't need to, I've got everything I need, Good Quality weed at low prices from the local coffeeshops, and peace and quiet too
I will be back and say hi, I'll be back in Amsterdam until the 14th October, then I'm off around Europe for another couple of weeks..
Catch up with you all soon. Mike, I'll send you a text when I'm back so we can catch up, gotta hear all about your trip, and we gotta do some climbing

Great to see you're back, SR!
It sounds like you have a great spot over there next to Vondelpark. Totally jealous, my friend
Glad you had such a good time roaming around and overpaying for gear...lol *shaking head*. Hey, if I was dry and it became available I'd pay for it as well
Good to have you back...and take care of yourself!
