Hi,
I have been reading this forum and it is great!!!
I am taking a trip with my friend. This is our first trip to Amsterdam, we are 2 women in our 40's, we want to visit the best coffee shops on our trip. Our travel dates are Oct 17th-Oct 22nd. Any suggestions would be great!

Hiya Marcy.. Welcome to the site, out in Amsterdam with my friends same dates as you its my 18th time but, SOOOOOOOO wish it was my first time all over again Lucky You, are you a heavy smoker? as your going to get wasted.
First off ill start off with cheese from homegrown fantasy Umm i would gladly sellotape a bag of this under my nose i know i would look weird but its smells So Bloody Good!! second weed would be amnesia haze mellow yellow has its cheap and people here have suggested to try it there, and :
black widow from katsu
wobler or cheesel from grey area
super silver haze from dampkring
terminator and bas special from basjoe
white russian from dampkring 2
Purple Wreck and Mango Kush from greenplace
that all ive got so far for trip smoke list only a quarter done

the travelogue section is great recent trip bud reviews and Pictures and not hard to make up a list from them alone. At end of day nearly anything you'll smoke is going to blow you away and you will get lost loads of times, but you'll have a really good time doing it. So it looks like there's lots of ACD members in Amsterdam on those dates so there will be a meet and greet (smoke your arse off) which ill be bringing a load of skunk to so maybe see you out there.

PS be careful of pushbikes in Amsterdam or you'll get ran over

Welcome, Marcy!

I grew up in the Midwest...and I still miss it sometimes. Great people out there and a nice change of pace.

My suggestion would be to read up on the travelouges and get as much information as you can there. There's tons of great shops to visit, things to see and do, and people to meet. Amsterdam is truly an amazing place and one that will quickly capture your heart. Just be prepared to not want to come home ;)

If you're not a heavy smoker I'd highly recommend that your first day be spent sleeping and eating...a lot! If you're looking for a good smoke, head to Basjoe and pick up some Thai or Jamaican...whichever they have at the time as this is very mild gear and is quite affordable; somewhere around €5/gram. After a day of something mild work your way up to the high grade stuff and you'll be fine :D

Just be safe, have a lot of fun, and remember that you will most likely throw all your plans out the window when you start walking around the city ;)

welcome to the forum

How not to get hit by a bike

this document may be found in the excellent S G Collins website recommended by FlyByNite for first-time visitors to amsterdam

imho reading this document is the very most important preparation you can do to ensure your own safety in amsterdam traffic, because being hit by a bicycle could ruin your day ...

if you have already read the document, then thanks, but if not, then please please please read before you arrive, and thanks

basjoe and yo-yo would be good imo

basjoe has great budtenders, a really nice menu and a lovely location

yo-yo has organic outdoor weed, a really pleasant large space filled with art and ambiance, echoes of the 60s here, and a great apple dessert

go to a least one museum and be amazed and delighted at the way the dutch present their history and culture

have a great trip ...

Those were some great suggestions SS67 :)

Marcy, I forgot to add that you should visit La Tertulia as it's run by a mother and daughter team...and I hear it's has a great female atmosphere. Also, they sell pre-bagged small amounts if you'd like to try a number of different things.
