hi everyone . i visited mellow yellow about 9 years ago and found it awful and have not been since.i must have missed something as everyone on here rates it highly. i will give it a try next trip.Just shows you how you should not always judge somewhere on one visit.
For me it is to difficult to choose but i do like amnesia and hgf have always been very friendly .love the menu at dampkring but always rammed so you never get a seat
If you could go to only one coffeeshop...
Re: mellow yellow
Did you go when it was a dog hole, it has been remodeled within that 9 years you have not been. Its a very good shop, although i liked the bud there before its miles better now. You must visit if you have not been here for that long.SHIVA 11 wrote:hi everyone . i visited mellow yellow about 9 years ago and found it awful and have not been since.i must have missed something as everyone on here rates it highly. i will give it a try next trip.Just shows you how you should not always judge somewhere on one visit.

Just trying to get some new point of views...thansk for the feedback and keep them coming!
2 months ago when I was last in Amsterdam, I visited
Dampkring (because of the legend and the riffman hash...which I tried and loved it!!. The g-15 was very tasty as well.)
Dutch Flowers (it was 100 meters from my hotel and had a very chill vibe at midnight on a Friday night. Sat outside and smoked some of my left over from the Dampkring and enjoyed a cup of coffee. Didnt really study the menu there, but didnt see anything that jumped out, at a glance)
Katsu (went to vape, but the table was occupied by someone reading the newspaper and not using it. I didn't want to intrude..then it became very crowded so I split before I could place an order and decide to stay)
Jolly Joker (I was at the Nieuwmarket and saw this place and it looked inviting with the big open windows. Sat inside at the window and bought a pre-rolled , yes I know....and enjoyed the ambiance despite the budtender and her peculiar comments from time to time.)
Barneys Uptown (found by accident...the Laughing Buddah was kind to me and the chairs were comfy...which was nice at the time. Budtender was so stoned, you could have blindfolded them with dental floss. Nice visit)
Tweede Kamer (A little disappointed on this visit as it seemed to have been bad timing. Some A-hole walks in, looked about 17, carrying the bottle of rum he was nursing that night...he was asked to leave immediately, but the vibe just wasn't right that evening, so I split before choosing to stay and check them out properly)
Grasshopper (The deck on the water...perfect chill spot late on a Friday night and good thing to be able to smoke and have a beer, whilst outside on the waterfront. I never went inside and have no clue if they have a proper counter or bed menu?)
My next visit, in 2 weeks from today ...gather fresh ideas, but know I want to go to Styx (the little one over near Nieumarket...looked very cool last time I passed by and reviews make it sound nice and chill)...Also, I plan to visit the 420, Mellow Yellow (as per suggestions here), Rookies and Grey Area.

teasers
i miss teasers. can't w8 to get back out to the dam for my 9th visit.
thanks kermit
Hi kermit yes i think it was very much a dog hole last time i went i seem to rememeber lots of white formica furniture. I bought some purple haze and that was rank also!!!.The staff were surly to say the least.Still bit of a pointless ramble really considering how long ago ot was. i will definitley give it another try.Funny Basjoes is one i had never heard of till i started lurking around this site.I have done over thirty trips to the Dam in the last twenty years and must of stayed within 800m of the place on many occasions yet never come across it.
That is something i love about the place i do know it very well but every time yo ugo you can turn up a gem of a CS or be dissapointed with how old favorites have declined.I used to love Dread Rock, not everyones cup of tea i know but sitting in the window upstairs when they used to have sofas on a sunday morning with a coffee the papers and a reefer was pure class.......arghhhhh....memories all blurred into one unfortunatley!!!
