HI Folks

I am over in October with the missus NH Amsterdam Centre 18th Oct-21st.

Even though I contributed towards it on my last visit, I used to have the menu page stored but can't seem to find it anymore has anyone a link?

I have looked at the maps and the CS near to where I am staying, has anyone used these:

Bulldog Palace
Easy times
Tops
Get down to it
RokeriJ
Noons
Mellow Yellow
Little
Crush

As usual I am looking for the best weed to get as high as I can during the daytime and another strain to put me on my back in the evening with some space cakes. I did look for the good old soft black that I smoked many years ago, but the budtenders just kept giving me polm!!!

Last time I had Silver haze for day and DNA at night follwed by muffins from Black Star, what seems to be the best just now.

Thanks in advance

You will find that those Coffeeshops may be conveniently close to your hotel but Amsterdam is a small enough city that it would be in your best interest to take some walks and go to better Coffeeshops that are a bit farther away. Definately avoid Bulldog, there assheads and there weed is garbage and overpriced. If your looking to find what the best strains are currently and what shops are the most favored just take a look through peoples trip reports and you will get a good sense of where your Coffeeshop experiences should be spent.

FlyByNight's Menu page is available at the link below. Mellow Yellow, Noon, Rokerij and Easy Times are good shops from your list.

noon- mellow yellow - RokeriJ out of the list. its well worth a walk to find the best coffee shops read the travelogues there a fantastic read and will help you with your choices. there's also a few acd members out same time as you including me should have a meet a greet, and maybe you can pick our brains a little and of course get really stoned

You have been posted on the October Whos In Town page.

You can see who else may be in town during your stay.

By default I link your posting to your profile page here on ACD.

I can change it to a web link ( myspace, facebook, personal page )
or an email address if you want.

as said amsterdam isn't a huge city. most shops can be reached in 10-40 mins walking time more or less depending on your pace. best to explore the city. try new shops out in and out of the centrum. its not like nyc or la or tokyo or london where it would take one several hours or more to walk from one end of the city to the other

Many thanks for the link to the menu page, now added to faves and looking over in great detail, after reading some reports I think Mellow Yellow is a must as I want to try the haze I read so much about.

As for a meet, well I know the missus wouldn't be to happy for me to leave her as this is meant to be a time we "spend together" and with her planning the days around the Iamsterdam card who knows when I'll get away.

Saying that it would be nice to meet up with whose in town, even if it is for a blast over a quick coffee when she's either tucked up in bed or having her "lie down" lol however this would need to be close to where I am staying as she will think I am away shagging some whore in the RLD "hee hee hee"

Oh and I did say to her that it would be good to have a CS near by the hotel as I can go and have a smoke. I am sure she thinks smoking is more important to me that visiting museums..... As if

Where ya staying at Stuart :?:

Here's a silly question.
I know we tourists must respect the dutch laws regarding smoking, is it ok to smoke in that park that is behind our hotel, Vondelpark. :)

As long as there aren't any kids about you'll be fine.

I have stayed at that hotel before and it is quite nice. very close to the leidseplein.

there are lots of nice restaurants and its also very close to melkweg.. which has some cool concerts going on always and also has the restaurant eat at joe's attached which is very nice as well.

definetely out of that list for coffeeshops.

noon is the best shop for herb that is the closest to you. however its not always the nicest place to sit back and relax and puff one. unless you hit it on a decent time when its not very busy with locals.

rokerij is very close by as well, they will most likely have some decent herb and the seating is relaxing and laid back.

mellow yellow is also very good for herb but its a bit further away.

you didnt mention dolphins.. it is probably closer than mellow yellow and can be a nice coffeeshop.. not much variety there but it can be good.

i would avoid easy times .. weed is bad news...

as for the bulldog.. dont buy, but it can be cool to sit on the outside little enclosure kinda thing they have going on and smoke a few while watching everything go down in the leidseplein. just be sure to at least buy a drink

also dont be afraid to take the trams. there is a tram that leaves straight from the leidseplein and goes right up to central station..

dont hesitate to ask the concierge for directions and what trams to take. they were very helpful with any questions i had while staying there.

hope you have a great trip

welcome to the forum

How not to get hit by a bike

i know you are not a first-time visitor, but i just want to double-check that both you and your missus have read this document from the excellent S G Collins website recommended by FlyByNite

if you have already read the document, then thanks, but if not, then please please please read before you arrive to ensure your safety in amsterdam traffic, and thanks

have a great trip ...

Thanks Cheese

Some good pointers there, I will heed advice and avoid those places mentioned.

Your right looking at the map, Dolphin seems closer than Mellow yellow however noons seems the closest with no bad reviews.

However if someone cares to share which is the best CS with the highest weed and a knock out strain, believe me I'll pop in and get it
Just that all the reviews and menus can make most sound tempting.

You mention you stayed at this hotel in the past, it's great to hear good feedback especially as it's only costing £45 per night for 2 of us, Priceline seems to have got me a decent place, I called them up and have been moved in to a smoking room.

Is there a problem toking in this hotel :?:

Also many thanks to stonedsince, I have saved the link on my faves and will roll up and have a good read.
Cheers
